Located in Emporium Mall 4th floor, came to eat here for dinner on the 21st Jan which is the lunar new year dinner to some people so the place was absolutely packed. However, the experience was not a positive one.
Food was "ok", nothing special, and it was obvious that the staff members were understaffed and could not deal with the amount of people and things happening for the lunar new year dinner. Food and drinks arrived late, presentation was the bare minimum, and believe it or not, we got desserts (mango jelly pudding in a plastic container) before we got .... whatever the soup was since they said they ran out of the soup. We raised the issue with the staff and the soup was changed, but it is too late by that point.
They tried their best service with the amount of people they have, but for some reason, the upper management could not find temporary workers or something to handle with this issue since such events do not come unannounced.
Atmosphere? There's nothing left after what happened with the food and service.
For the price of what they are charging (easily more than 9.7 million for 20 people), it was totally not worth for the money value.
For people considering to eat here for big events, avoid this particular establishment. For normal/ a la carte setup.. there's slightly better prices for the same price.

Located inside Emporium Pluit Mall, this Din Tai Fung Chef’s Table is one of the Indonesian branches of the famous Taiwanese chain. Known for its delicate xiao long bao (soup dumplings), Din Tai Fung has earned global recognition and was once named one of the world’s top ten restaurants by The New York Times.
The restaurant offers a clean, comfortable dining environment and professional service. One particular advantage here in Indonesia is that, despite being on the pricier side for the local market, you typically don’t have to wait in long lines—unlike locations in places like Silicon Valley, where the wait can be hours. That convenience is definitely a plus.
My Ratings:
Service: 4/5 (friendly and attentive)
Environment: 4/5 (clean and well-maintained)
Price: 3/5 (expensive and not very cost-effective)
While the food is decent and the brand has prestige, the overall value feels more like you’re paying for the name. Portions are modest, and for the price, it’s hard to justify frequent visits.
Overall Score: 75/100 (3.5 stars)
It’s worth trying once for the experience, but if you’re looking for everyday dining or high value, this may not be...

my recent visit to Din Tai Fung reaffirmed its reputation as a gold standard in taiwanese and shanghainese cuisine.
the night began with the iconic xiao long bao, and rightfully so. whilst a tad-bit pricey, each dumpling was a testament to craftsmanship delicately pleated, perfectly translucent, and filled with a rich, flavorful broth that burst cleanly on the palate. the balance between the tender pork filling and the umami-laden soup was pleasant.
service throughout the evening was highly efficient and courteous. staff members were attentive without being intrusive and demonstrated a clear knowledge of the menu and its traditional roots. The ambiance was clean and elegantly understated, allowing the food to take...
