Om Spice Mystery — Restaurant in Jakarta

Went here for a quick meal, ended up disappointed.

Egg pakoras were not crispy at all, soggy all the way and literally below average! This is not what I expect for egg pakoras that usually I have back in India or even other Indian diaspora outside India (I spent more than half of my lifetime in India, so I know what Indian khana supposed to be). For this price they cut a boiled egg into tiny bits and coat them in random vegetable pakora batter made of besan. This is not how good Andey (egg) pakorey are made! I can even make it way better than this place.

So called Paneer Irani Tikka was really nothing "irani" at all, which supposed to be rich in terms of marinade ingredients (uses cream, yoghurt, dry nut pastes and grated cheese). This was just a toned down usual Paneer Tikka. But they did a good thing by using mustard oil for the marinade. Otherwise very lack of flavour, and nothing close to the "Irani" tikka.

Green chutney on the table was literally overpowered in ginger flavour! Not supposed to be like this, green chutney should be packed with coriander and mint flavour not overpowering ginger taste.

Tamarind chutney was ok, again lack of that khada masala flavour and fruity sweetness from dates.

Apart from the food, service was below average. Too much staffs standing and chatting while the out of tune Hindi "live" song made the dining experience even worse. I am very particular too in songs. If one cannot sing properly, better not to annoy other people's hearing senses with horrible voice and improper Hindi pronounciation (yes, I have been a classical Hindustani singer by profession too for more than 20 years!).

Toilet was NEXT LEVEL DIRTY AND SMELLED HORRIBLE WHEN I CAME.

The place is cozy and smells of spice.

The food i cant really rate it coz i have said i cannot eat spicy food and the witress tells me all foods are kt spicy unless i order them to, but then all the food came are all spicy.

Then... they made 2 times bill mistakes so i hv to swipe my card 3 times..

I need to stand quite a while at the cashier. The cashier was there when i came, she saw me, but were in the middle of something. i have waited. I thought i can pay my bills, after that but then she make a call.. and i must wait a bit more...

When i place my complain, they said sorry, because they got a lot of take out orders...

For the price, i expected better service.. well, price tag sure is not a guarantee for anything. Be sure to dine in when they don't have a lot of take out orders.

A very unpleasent dining...

We went to the place after booking the table for 2 But got very disappointed there was no food left at the time 1.30 _ 1.45 pm. We got whatsapp that in 99 k Brunch from 12 pm to 3 pm The owner was so puzzle she was feeling embarrassed saying sorry that there's is no food left Only some pani puri she gave and some daal was left over and in paneer veg only the gravy was there even the welcome drink which they offered was not there . I will recommend every one make sure you all get food properly not that you pay for brunch and you don't get enough food and come hungry out of restaurant And go to some fast food joint to fulfillment your hunger. Food may be good but the thing you can only appreciate when you get after paying also . I recommend they should stop this Sunday brunch...
