I had the pleasure of visiting Ramlie Musofa Mosque during Jum'at Prayer , and I can honestly say it was one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I experienced in the city. Tucked away in the Sunter area of North Jakarta, this mosque is not only a place of worship, but also a cultural landmark with breathtaking architecture, serene interiors, and deep spiritual energy.

From the outside, the mosque immediately reminded me of the Taj Mahal, with its pristine white façade, symmetrical design, and majestic dome. It’s no surprise that some locals refer to it as “Jakarta’s Taj Mahal.” But as impressive as the exterior is, it’s really the inside of the mosque that took my breath away.

As soon as I stepped in, I felt a sense of calm and comfort. The interior is spacious and grand without feeling overwhelming. Tall columns and arches frame the prayer hall, while soft green carpets cover the floor, creating a welcoming and tranquil atmosphere. The lighting is gentle and warm, which adds to the peaceful vibe of the space. Even though I am not Muslim, I was welcomed respectfully and was allowed to observe quietly, which I deeply appreciated.

The mosque is also incredibly clean and well-maintained. Every surface, from the floor to the decorative walls, was spotless. The wudhu (ablution) facilities were modern, hygienic, and easy to access. You can tell that the management and caretakers of the mosque take great pride in keeping the place in top condition. It felt like a true sanctuary in the middle of a bustling city.

What really fascinated me were the ornamental and cultural elements within the mosque. The walls are beautifully inscribed with verses and phrases not only in Arabic, but also in Mandarin Chinese and Bahasa Indonesia. It reflects the heritage and vision of the founder, and the inclusivity of the mosque’s message. The blend of Islamic, Chinese, and local Indonesian aesthetics is done in such a harmonious and thoughtful way. The carvings, calligraphy, and intricate designs throughout the mosque show a remarkable attention to detail. The mihrab (the niche that indicates the direction of Mecca) is particularly striking, with its ornate carvings and spiritual presence.

If you're a cultural traveler, an architecture enthusiast, or simply looking for a quiet and reflective space away from Jakarta’s busy streets, I cannot recommend Ramlie Musofa Mosque enough. It’s not a typical tourist attraction, which makes the visit even more special. I felt both inspired and grounded after my time there.

This mosque deserves more attention as a cultural destination in Jakarta. I’d definitely return again — and I encourage anyone traveling through the city to spend some time there. It’s a beautiful experience, inside and out.

The most amazing mosque in Jakarta I have ever seen. The architecture was very great, awesome...!! On the front wall which is parallel to the gate, there are carvings of the verses of the Koran, Al Qori’ah, and on the side of the wall, there is also an Al Fatihah letter engraving. Super exciting 😍.

in places for ablution, provided benches with granite and marble pedestal, very classy. The toilets are very clean and comfort to using them.

Inside of the mosque, all the floors are marble and granite. The room is very spacious to accommodate worshipers who want to pray. On the outside of the mosque, there is a very comfortable balcony, with bedug decoration which is also very luxurious.

Too bad I didn't take many photographs of the mosque's...

very beautiful mosque, great architecture yet functional in space. Ornamen details is just balance and nice, mostly white marble colour, ambience is peaceful, clean and neat. I can feel the quality of space and finishes. Interior has a high ceiling height with good cross ventilation. No air cond but the ventilation is adequate.

functional side thay have adequate ablution area, seated style "wudhu" and accessibility there is elevator (lift) all theway from ground to pray area.

I went here for my sister's wedding, the "Akad" is held inside the mosque. very helpful marbot during the event. there is space provided for changing room and area for gathering in ground floor. thank you for having us here. Jazzakumullah...
