Santiga Seafood (From Benhil) — Restaurant in Jakarta

Went here with my friends, we ordered squid with padang sauce, salted egg shrimp, grilled grouper (kerapu) fish and sauteed water spinach (kangkung).

The squid was OK, but the padang sauce was dissapointing. I expected a spicy-rich taste of padang sauce I usually had in seafood restaurant, but the taste was more like sweet and sour sauce (even had pineapple in it). I don't know whether the order got mixed up or that's just how they cook their padang sauce.

The salted egg shrimp was the best, the salted egg sauce is tasty, dry not a runny one, and doesn't smell fishy. Also the shrimp was big! Worth the price.

For the grilled grouper fish, it was so-so, the fish was fresh but the seasoning could be better.

The sauteed water spinach portion was generous and taste good.

The place is in a building, plus point compared to other seafood joint in a tent. They also have live music.

Overall, not the best seafood in town but pretty decent if you're craving for seafood in...

Note though they serve in small portion for each.

Overall, although it is a bit OVERPRICE for such quality (compare to Seafood45 beside them, which taste way better imo) This seafood place is still recommended because they have more option for sauce, namely goreng menteng, telor asin, saus padang,...

One of the best seafood place in South Jakarta. The food portion is generous and priced reasonably, even on the cheaper side. Sure the place is hot and smoky from all the grilling (not recommended for clean freaks), but it's definitely worth the hairwashing and laundry afterwards. Entering the place you'll first pass the cashier table. You could order here if you want to select the fish / seafood by yourself, or just go straight to the table and a waiter will bring you the menu.
