Smiljan Antropolis — Restaurant in Jakarta

I get it why Smiljan Antropolis didn't even bother installing name sign at the front of its shop. Totally get it. The products and services literally sell itself so no amount of branding can level up to that quality. The setting is understatedly humble, it's like a balance of extrovert people who like to get together and chat and introvert who want to be left alone drown in books. Speaking of books, they have many free to read books inside, a well curated interesting books that is. Some of them are for sale, so if you want to bring em home, yes you can. I tried the TEMA Cosmopolitan Tea with ice, which have this chic perfumey aroma that can counter Jakarta heat outside. It still maintain the appropriate level of bitterness, tea-style. No worries. For the coffee, I ordered a hot pour over, it's Ethiopian beans, not quite sure how to type the full name, so I just gonna describe the flavour : tangy, tea-like, and berry-ish. Also I ordered their mochacinno which I instantly rename into "Mochacinno from Heaven" because it is what it is, the top foam is blessed with sweet hint of forgiveness, and the rest to the bottom was total chocolatey enlightment. Oh and the music is cool kid vibes kind of music : alternative rock, 2000's beat pop. Your kind. Oh and like I said don't try to find the name sign, because there's none. Just type the Smiljan Antropolis in your ridehailing apps and have faith on the driver, will ya? Life's about taking...

I'm a self proclaimed coffee snob and I'm quite picky about my coffee and this place steals my heart! this is their second branch after the Bintaro one. I was their regular at Bintaro and I'm happy that they have this place located not too far from Lebak Bullis MRT. The place is smaller but equally charming and offering similar drinks menu as their first branch, although for the food, they offer less options perhaps because the place is smaller.

Their Bintaro branch offers the best coffee in the neighbourhood and I believe this one will do the same! Coffee is always excellent with equally great quality for non coffee drinks. Service is remarkable, they are genuine and friendly, make your coffee trip becoming memorable. I can't recommend this coffee shop enough to all my friends who happen to live in the neighbourhood. so good!

Eng: Dropping by Smiljan Antropolis hits differently compared to the one in Ciputat.

The paintings, vibes, and ambiance are on point, but this spot is a tad smaller.

The compact size doesn't take away from Smiljan's quality. In fact, you get a whiff of freshly roasting coffee since you're in the same room as the roaster. It adds a whole new level to the coffee experience.

This spot is tucked inside the Ministry of Public Works and Housing complex, so don't be surprised if your map directs you to what seems like a residential area with a ministry office inside.

As always, I opt for a manual brew using the beans they have here. And trust me, Smiljan's manual brew never disappoints.

The food options are not as extensive as the Ciputat branch, so don't come expecting the same delightful spread.

Perfect spot if you want some alone time, work or get things done peacefully.

No worries about following the map; it leads you to the right place.

Indo: Mampir ke Smiljan Antropolis bener-bener beda dibanding yang di Ciputat.

Lukisannya, vibe, dan atmosfirnya oke banget, cuma tempatnya agak lebih kecil.

Ukuran yang lebih kecil enggak ngefek ke kualitas Smiljan sama sekali. Malah, kita bisa nyium aroma kopi yang lagi di-roasting, soalnya kita satu ruangan sama mesin roastingnya. Bener-bener nambah seru "ngopi"nya.

Tempat ini di dalam kompleks Kementerian PUPR, jadi jangan kaget kalau map nyuruh masuk ke area perumahan yang ternyata ada kantor kementeriannya.

Kayak biasa, aku selalu pilih manual brew dari biji kopi yang mereka punya. Dan jujur, manual brew di Smiljan enggak pernah ngecewain.

Makanannya enggak sebanyak yang ada di Ciputat sih. Jadi, kalau datang, jangan berharap makanan sebanyak di Ciputat ya.

Tempatnya oke banget buat yang pengen me time, kerja, atau ngerjain tugas dengan tenang.

Jangan ragu buat ikutin petunjuk map, karena pasti bawa ke tempat yang bener.
