Weekday Lunch at Sushi Hiro Sushi Hiro has been a longtime favorite in the fancy sushi scene, with multiple branches. I usually dine at this branch, and they always maintain their quality, making it my go-to sushi spot.
Recently, they’ve introduced daily promotions, which vary by outlet. You can check the latest deals by downloading the Hiro app.
What I Ordered: ✅ Truffle Salmon Sushi (5/5) – One of my favorites! The truffle flavor is well-balanced and doesn’t overpower the sushi.
✅ Carbonara Udon (5/5) – the udon cooked perfectly and the sauce is very well balance and not too much
✅ Salmon Maki (5/5) – A simple comfort dish. The rice is well-seasoned, and the salmon portion is generous.
✅ Chuka Idako Gunkan (5/5) – I love baby octopus, and their chuka idako is always spot on.
✅ Salmon Salad Inari (5/5) – Tried this for the first time since it was on Monday’s promo for only 25K. The salmon was fresh, and the flavor was great.
❌ Chuka Kurage & Wakame Salad (3/5) – Had high expectations since I love both chuka kurage (jellyfish) and chuka wakame. Unfortunately, the Hiro sauce was too overpowering, making it a bit overwhelming since both ingredients already have strong flavors.
Final Thoughts Sushi Hiro remains a top choice for sushi lovers, with consistent quality and great promos. Definitely worth...
Read moreDefinitely not value for money. Maybe they charge more for the sushi ladder experience lol. The place does look nice, with tall glass walls on one side.
Ordered mostly salmon, which tasted fresh enough. Smoked duck was rather salty. Some of the torched sushi (aburi) and cooked sushi were warm, though the rest were lukewarm, like the chicken one and some of the salmon. Maybe it's the ac?
The salmon sashimi were thick enough. We had carpaccio and there were 4 mere slices of fish. :/ Overall the taste was your usual sushi, with more variety of cooked sushi for those against raw seafood.
Beware of ordering too much sushi with rice, got full too soon. :(
Ocha is refillable and is the only warm drink on the menu. Didn't order any other drinks.
Place is charming, wooden chic. The ceiling is decorated with simple white paper flowers. Good for a date. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Comfortable seating, just don't sit near any ac as they can drip. (The place was cold, at least for me.) They also have rooms for those wanting a bit of privacy.
Was tired when going here, maybe that affected my mood regarding the place? Might come again, but maybe not with...
Read moreI had dinner here and it was 6.10 PM. The restaurant was at 50% maximum capacity yet the waiters and waitress were quite slow despite they were numerous. When I first sat down, I made eye contact with a waiter requesting a menu book and he did not even flinch. I had to wait for 20 minutes before my drink (hot ocha) came. I needed to ask 3 people before 1 person responded to my request and check my receipt, she replied, "FOOD usually takes around 30-40 minutes to come out". I politely replied but I'd waited for my drink in the last 15 minutes and it was not a complex drink - a glass of hot ocha -. A restaurant at Sushi Hiro's caliber should be better in their service, because you charge us upon it.
When I went up for payment, I gave feedback to the cashier and not a single "sorry" was said. She was quite pretty defensive saying it was rush hour yet in front of us there were 3-4 tables empty. Moreover, I noticed that couple of staff were just hanging around on the other side of the restaurant.
Please improve your service because you are not the only sushi restaurant in this...
