Indonesian restaurant serving spaghetti? Had to investigate this cultural phenomenon for myself.Ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese (220k) expecting either authentic Italian or some kind of Indonesian fusion interpretation. What arrived was... just regular spaghetti. No sambal, no Indonesian spices, no local twist whatsoever. Just standard bolognese that could've come from any mid-tier Italian restaurant in Vancouver.

This led me to interrogate our poor server about the historical connection between Indonesian cuisine and pasta. "How long has spaghetti been part of Indonesian food culture?" I asked. She looked confused. "Is this related to Dutch colonial influence? Portuguese traders? Marco Polo's spice route?"

The young woman clearly hadn't prepared for a history lesson during her dinner shift. When I pressed further about whether they incorporate any traditional Indonesian cooking techniques into their pasta preparation, she just smiled nervously and said "It's just spaghetti, sir."

Tried asking the manager about their cultural fusion concept. He seemed equally baffled by my questions about pasta trade routes to Southeast Asia and whether their recipes reflect any regional Indonesian influences.

Apparently, they just... serve spaghetti In Indonesia, Because people like spaghetti.

The food itself was perfectly adequate - nothing wrong with the bolognese, proper pasta texture, reasonable portions. But after two months of incredible Indonesian cuisine, ending up at a place that serves standard Italian food feels like culinary whiplash.

Maybe I'm overthinking it. Maybe sometimes an Indonesian spaghetti restaurant is just an Indonesian spaghetti restaurant. Still left scratching my head about the whole concept, but the bolognese was...

Came here 8PM Saturday for dinner, place is crowded but we had seats. Placed in Cipete, accessible by bus and MRT (walk a bit) and parking for car & bike is adequate. Seating is indoor mostly but in front porch there are outdoor seats. Place is clean, not so spacious but accommodating, well air-conned, and lighting gives a vintage look to complement the homey interior with various furnitures & decorations. The toilet and musholla are clean.

They offer rice and pasta-based cuisines, some with a twist. Condiments such as chicken popcorn, dory bites, and mushroom bites are also available. Assorted choice of coffee, juice, and other drinks are also available. All are at a reasonable price, relatively cheap compared to other restos nearby.

I had the spaghetti cheese burger & egg, chicken spinach, chicken popcorn, mix celery & cucumber juice, and ginny latte. Spaghetti is surprisingly great tasting a bit salty-sweet, portion is moderate, the pasta is soft and oily-slick (a bit too much oil but tolerable), patty-egg-cheese are solid and fulfilling. Chicken spinach is soft, the chicken is crunchy & tender, and the spinach is fresh. Sauce is okay as a compliment. Chicken popcorn is honey-soy glazed, so taste sweet and tangy. Size is quite huge for about 50k IDR. The celery mix juice is very refreshing, the mix is great Ginny latte (cinnamon latte) has a soft and sweet cinnamon aroma, warming to drink.

The staffs are super informative, kind, and quick to serve.

Definitely will come back here as it suits all purpose - to dine, work, or to hang...

Visiting Toodz House feels like coming home. My last visit was 4 years ago, and returning now, the ambiance is still the same. It truly has that homey vibe, familiar playlist, and surprisingly delicious food with refreshingly tasty drinks.

Toodz House is perfect for a casual meetup with friends, a date night with your significant other, or simply enjoying a meal with the family away from home. It's also an ideal spot for those looking for a great WFC (Work From Cafe) experience. With its cozy ambiance, familiar playlist, and delicious food and drinks, it provides a comfortable setting to get work done while enjoying a delightful meal.

I went for the Carbonara Rice with Spicy Grilled Chicken. I was expecting a creamy dish, but the spicy grilled chicken added the perfect kick, creating a delightful blend on my taste buds. Personally, I loved it!

I paired it with the Strawberry Lime Splash drink, incredibly refreshing! A perfect combination, especially after indulging in a creamy meal.

This place is my go-to recommendation for friends and myself when someone asks for a nice and cozy spot for meetups, dates, family dinners, or a productive work session in South Jakarta or around Cipete, Cilandak, and the...

This cafe was pretty cute looking even though it's quite a small one. They offer mostly Indonesian fusion food although I don't feel like their food has a clear theme or direction. They mostly just have what I call the typical hip Indonesian "cafe food". The corned beef rice was quite salty due to the corned beef itself, but it was still bearable, and the flavour still complemented the fried chicken wings well. The chicken wings were also juicy and tender. The mushroom Dabu Dabu was nice and savoury, a little bit spicy as well but not too spicy. I do have to say, the portions were also a bit small and I was not particularly satisfied with the food although the taste was alright. Overall, the food doesn't make me want to come back. The cafe was also a bit cramped, and the seats were a bit uncomfortable even though the place was cool and nicely decorated. The prices were also not the most affordable for the value.
