I had the opportunity to dine at Amen Restaurant in Puncak and would like to share my thoughts on the experience.
Firstly, I tried the lindung cafumak, which is eel dish. The dish was crispy and enjoyable, but I was hoping for a bit more flavor and heat in the sauce. The eel itself was cooked well, but the sauce was lacking in depth.
Next, I sampled the babi kecap, a pork dish that did not meet my expectations. While it tasted okay, it fell short in comparison to other versions I have tried in the past. However, it was still an acceptable dish.
The prices at Amen Restaurant are on the higher side, but the portions were decent, making it possible to share dishes. If you are looking for an affordable meal, this might not be the best option for you.
In conclusion, Amen Restaurant in Puncak has some positives but also room for improvement. While the eel dish was enjoyable, the sauce could use more flavor. The babi kecap did not quite meet my expectations, but it was still an acceptable dish. Although the prices were steep, the portion sizes were decent, making it...
Read moreOne of the best (and probably the best) chinese food around puncak, the taste is just subtle yet super delicate, we ordered just 3 simple dishes which is Ayam Garam, Garlic Broccoli and Tauco Frog Leg, all tasted amazingly very different thank every chinese food we ever try:
The chicken is salty but not overwhelming and still juicy, unlike normal “ayam garam” which ended up too dry
Broccoli also very well cooked, not sure if they use blanching method, but it’s still ridiculously green yet very tender (blanching method usually resulted the broccoli quite hard to chew)
Lastly the frog leg, obviously the soup is very very tasty, not too sour like normal Tauco sauce, this is just the right balance and the portion is quite huge btw.
We also tried Sate Maranggi at Bakoel Rasa which apparently the restaurant is the same group with Amen (the backside of amen), at 50k it’s the best sate maranggi we ever tasted, about 5-6 sticks with huge meat on it
Beware that amen restaurant is quite expensive which cost us about 400k with that 3 dish, 2...
Read moreBest non-halal chinese food restaurant in town! Authentic flavours that have not ever changed. Ate here first 17 years ago in its old location near Pasar Cipanas, then moved to Cimacan (slightly nearer to Jakarta 😁), the only one that (I notice) was removed from menu was Red Snapper. But in general, the taste remains the same. You can find a lot of stir-fried vegetables (plain or with meat), any kind of meat cooked in sweet sour style/butter fried/soup, noodles, fried rice, etc. The "Pismanis" sweet fried banana are also famous, and almost every people that enter this restaurant will buy it. It is honey-like sweet banana with pandan and vannila note, dip in batter and deep fried. Must try! It has a local halal restaurant also in the same complex that serves Indonesian-West Java culinary such as grilled fish, sayur asam, lalapan and sambal, marinated fried chicken, etc. The parking area is quite large, but at the lunch/dinner time in the weekend it is still quite hard to find the space. Nice and clean restroom. Receive payment...
