This is definitely one of the most artful place I have eaten around this area. Located in a corner of a row of ruko, I would consider is a type of secret garden. Everything is tastefully done with a bohemian touch. But don’t be fooled into thinking that it’s just a eye candy shop. The food is of a suitably high standard too
Ambience: Top notch. This place is really well decorated and every space has its own little corner of design. My photos speaks for itself.
Food quality: High marks given for the escargot and salmon I had. Both had good balanced taste. The salmon’s creamy sauce wasn’t overpowering and the Salmon’s searing was overdone which was counter balanced by the meat itself. Only qualm is that the salmon is probably not of the highest/freshest grade.
Price: Definitely on the high side. But the presentation and quality of food does warrant it. Only question mark is the service charge is 8% opposed to the normal 5%.
Service level: Standard service without complain. I did not push the service level so I would say that it’s a standard Indonesian fare. Which is decent in ASEAN level anyway.
Quirk: don’t understand the menu. Why is it a QR code to of all things instagram. Ordering off Instagram is troublesome and if you switch apps the menu is lost. Definitely a minus. Also some of the old menu I saw in previous menus are currently missing. (Pork knuckle I mean you)
Conclusion: try it if you are trying to impress the missus or an important guest. Special occasions definitely...
Read moreWe had a family dinner (pax of 5) last night. We had Fettucine pesto (replaced with spaghetti bcs the fettucine was unavail), poulet chasseur, fish n chips, angel hair aglio olio, pepperoni pizza, ice capp, matcha latte, coffee pudding, and english bfast tea.
I didn’t try the pastas and fish n chips, but I have a few takeaways of my order;
Poulet Chasseur (rated 3/5). The chicken was very dry inside, though it was charred nicely on the outside. Wedges potatoes was not paired well, a classic Poulet Chasseur should’ve paired with mashed potatoes for the sides. The sautéed asparagus was tasty. I really, really despise the dry chicken. It’s not something you would enjoy at a bistro.
Ice Cappucino (rated 1/5). The drink was too watery and acidic, I suspect from the extraction of espresso, it was watery in the first place. The thin crema aroma and taste was the first thing I notice from the watery espresso for the capp. Hence the acidic taste of the coffee. It was not pleasant, it’s not how a standard ice cappucino should taste like, let alone a niche restaurant standard.
Even though my orders were disappointing, the manager was okay, the ambience was good, though I didn’t really fancy our wait staff who server...
Read moreFirst time trying a full course meal in fine dining. My wife had a five-meal course, while I had a six-meal course.
The place could be easily missed. Drive slowly if you don’t know the exact location of this place. Inside, the setting and ambiance were good. The thing that I thought lacking was that they put a painting of Joker. It’s a miss if they were aiming for a romantic setting, making it more like a casual type of cafe. There was a building under construction beside this place, also made it less romantic😅, but for this it’s not their fault. Overall this was a nice experience. Expensive, but reasonable I think. From all the food I tasted, I don’t really care about spaghetti. It’s too bad when we made reservation, we couldn’t change the spaghetti to other option.
They charge booking fee for reservation. Although when we came here, the place was empty. At least in the floor where we ate (4th floor), there was no...
