LA COLLINA BATU — Restaurant in Kota Batu

We visited this Italian Restaurant as a group of 8, including 2 small children, and spent over 1.6 million Rupiahs. Sadly, we didn’t feel that the experience was worth the price.

The only menu worth ordering were the pasta dishes. We had 2 Penne dishes and a Tagliolini al Nero, all three of which were delicious and highly recommended. These were the only ones we felt worth ordering.

They recommended us “Pizza del Carnivoro”, which, unfortunately did not meet our expectations. The crust was chewy and tough to bite, and the sauce and toppings lacked distinct flavour.

The fish dishes were particularly disappointing. We ordered the Salmon Steak and Gindara alla Griglia, both of which were dry and tough, seemingly overcooked. We also had to wait more than half an hour for these dishes, even after all the other dishes were served!

The restaurant is spacious and luxurious, with a romantic ambience perfect for a dinner date of two.

If we were to return, it would only be for the pasta dishes, which stood out in terms of taste. We would avoid the meat dishes, given the long wait times and...

The only Italian Resto in Batu. Very pricey for the taste , quantity and quality of food . The tiramisu was very soggy and contained a very strong rum essence (don’t replace amaretto with rum essence, better leave rum completely out ) the escargots very dry and the recipe is anti mainstream ( expecting oil garlic fm the oven in stead of a cheesy ragout type consistency ) . The Fiorentina steak was good not great. The coffee served was very bad and watery, would expect coffee from a proper Italian espresso machine at the price level this restaurant is selling its dishes . The restaurant has a great ambience, though wondering how it can sustain itself with probably many other customers having the same view and experiences as we had. Most probably a better bet to move out from the fine dining setting into a more traditional Italian village mainstream dishes and a lower...

The place looks amazing and fancy. The atmosphere is very posh. Menu selection is okay, but it's quite pricey. Portion is not that big, though. I enjoyed the food, but the service here is so slow. I waited for more than an hour before my order is served. For a place as good as this, the service is far below standard. As an apology the restaurant only give one desert and it was too sweet for my taste.

I don't know if this is a one time event where the service is so bad or maybe it's a regular thing. For the price they set, I expect much much better service. At the very least let the customers know how long they will have to wait. I come here with high expectations but apparently leaving with disappointment. I don't plan to visit this...
