I visited Pos Ketan Legenda during my trip to Batu Malang and I was curious to try their legendary sticky rice with various toppings. The place was easy to find, near the alun-alun of Batu city. It was a small shop with a big sign that said "Pos Ketan Legenda 1967". The shop has been selling sticky rice since 1967 and it is considered an iconic culinary spot in Batu Malang.

I ordered the KSD (sticky rice with milk and durian) and the KSK (sticky rice with milk and cheese). The sticky rice was served warm and soft, with generous amounts of toppings. The milk was sweet and creamy, and the durian was fragrant and rich. The cheese was melted and gooey, adding a savory contrast to the sweet sticky rice. I enjoyed both of them, but I preferred the KSD more because I love durian. The portion was quite big and filling, so I shared it with my friend.

The price was reasonable, around 15k-25k IDR per portion, depending on the toppings. They have more than 15 toppings to choose from, such as coconut, peanut, chocolate, jackfruit, banana, and more. The service was fast and friendly, and the place was clean and cozy. They also sell drinks like coffee, tea, and juice.

I had a chance to try out this place during my recent visit to Batu. They serve variety of fusion ketan dishes. Just imagine this - ketan, cheese, and durian. Sounds quite weird right? The flavor actually blends quite well and it tastes delicious.

The only drawback is that the place is really small. No matter what time of day you go, most likely you'll see people queuing up here. So the best strategy is to walk around the area (plenty of things to see), and when you notice the line gets short, that's when you go. Even when you go before they open up, most likely you'll see a line.

In overall, I think it's worth to go and try out this place when you're in Batu, and the workers try their hardest to keep the line moving and work as fast as they can. Just a bit of patience will bring you...

pos ketan legenda is the place you have to visit when you visit malang/batu. the first time i decided to try it because my cousin recommend me must-visit places to go in malang and also because i visited malang for my campus field trip agenda.
