Retrorika - coffee bar & resto — Restaurant in Kota Batu

"Retrorika" the first thing spring on my mind is the word of "Retro", and i think this are another wannabe idea of vintage cafe? . or "Retrorika" are presented as word as it as should be?.. well.....for my opinion i am glad they not turnout something like that, yes is still feeling retro-ish, but they mixed with "something else" .... is mix with CREATIVE and IDEA, creative because they wasn't just rely on standard idea of vintage cafe , they using their creativity to build something else, the stuff, the atmosphere, mood, settings, and more interestingly almost entire furniture they made it from unrelated junk, and give a idea how to make it work...is weird and raw, but is comfort and intruiging, they even give you hankerchief instead of tissue..it's nearly feel like 80's idea of "post apocalyptic". "Retrorika" as it turn out make the word of "Retrorika" exactly right and it suprised me when i think vintage cafe feel boring lately ..maybe is not bizzare but interesting, and feel different in term of experience and idea, rather than just a brand or speech.

... or maybe it feel surprise because they never give a speech about...

I found a hidden gem.

WINDY-FREE. The place is secluded and not crowded. That's why it is very safe for a person like me who can't stand cold (this cafe is not windy like the other outdoor cafe in Batu). That's why it is CHILD FRIENDLY too ( they even have a lovely tiny fish pond).

The ZONING, love it. This place divide itself into 6 sitting zone, each has his unique and cozy ambience. As we know in this pandemic situation, keeping distance is a must. This cafe's excellence zoning answers that.

GOOD FOOD. It is good, served well, the plating is nice, and the price is good too despite its location (you know how pricey the food are in Batu)

GOOD PRICE. Don't worry, it is very friendly to our wallet.

The AMBIENCE. Everything here, tableware, furniture, the building itself and the music, all stick to the concept of this cafe "Retro". And i love it.

Taking photo is a must, for this place is AESTHETIC.

This coffeeshop is one of kind. If you want great coffee, unique ambience, awesome staff, this is the one to go -- and the price is pretty affordable. It's perfect!

As you can see from the photos, there are plants, and a lot of them. The toilet is using door with mechanical lock which is pretty awesome. When we visited there, the staff were having some kind of meeting, and we didn't mind to wait, after all we can take photos as many as we would.

From what I saw, the staff treats the other staff like family, and they treat guests as their friend. There were no overly polite manner which you usually find in the other establishment.

If there's one negative thing to say about this place, is the road access to get here. The road was tint and "off-road"y -- but thankfully it's a short distance from...
