it's been a while since my big family eat together.

pros: the place is quiet, even the toll road noises can't be heard tho, there are some ponds and you can feed the fishes in it with only IDR 15k/pack, in the alley to the rear part of the building you can check the sea creatures used for the menu displayed in some aquariums. there are 2 playgrounds for children. you can book a cabin-like private room (it can be used by up to 10 adults, and there are the bigger one if you bring a lot of people) or you can book a seat in the middle part surrounded by the ponds. the waiters are really nice with excellent service, you can ask them to help taking the picture or order some à la carte. the bakwan jagung is seriously godly here, the gurame terbang is also a champion for me, and the cumi goreng tepung is also politely going through the mouth, yummy!

cons: the serving time is quite long, we were wating for about 20-30 minutes before the food served. the order of the food is not right, we were served with the main course, the drink and last the appetizer bakwan jagung🤣, I guess the waiters or the cook got a lot of waiting list at the time. the plencing kangkung feels bland, the gurame bakar is not so well-done, some part of the meat won't go along with the chunk when forked. I thought the rice bakul was the entire bakul, but it turned out already dished out like McD rice.

I rarely leave bad reviews on businesses, but this one is almost obligatory. Unfortunately, at Amanaia, you are paying for the view. We had been excited to try out this place after seeing the glowing reviews online. I made a reservation for 10 people and was told to arrive 15 minutes before schedule to stay on the reservation list and keep my 500k non-refundable deposit. That's 15 minutes early, not later. Dining out shouldn't feel like going to a job interview. We nonetheless got there on time, and ordered the gurame mangga rempah, bawal bumbu nyonya, cumi goreng madu, ayam bakar taliwang, iga garang asam, tahu isi, tempe goreng, and plecing kangkung. Each dish was a letdown. We were told that the ayam bakar taliwang would be half of a whole chicken and enough for 2-3 people. What we got was a single piece of a chicken thigh. It cost almost 100k. The serving size of all the other dishes was similarly tiny. It was quite ridiculous since Amanaia is supposed to cater to large groups.
