I recently dined at Annapurna Restaurant in Bali, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that this establishment falls short in several aspects.
Firstly, the service was incredibly disappointing. Not only were we subjected to long waiting times for our food to be served, but we were also inconvenienced by being asked to move tables to accommodate a larger group that arrived after us. This lack of consideration for existing patrons was unacceptable.
The quality of the food further compounded our dissatisfaction. The biryani, supposedly a signature dish, was incredibly dry and lacked flavor. To add insult to injury, it was served with a measly portion of raita, leaving us feeling shortchanged. Additionally, the basmati rice used in the biryani was of subpar quality, further detracting from the overall dining experience.
Furthermore, the portion sizes were underwhelming, considering the exorbitant prices charged. Even basic requests, such as warm glasses of water, were met with stinginess, as we were served in tiny glasses and charged for it. This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction reflects poorly on the restaurant's management.
The ambiance of the restaurant did little to redeem the experience. Despite its proximity to the main road, the noise pollution was incessant, making it difficult to enjoy our meal in peace. The overall atmosphere was lackluster, failing to justify the inflated prices charged for the mediocre fare.
In conclusion, Annapurna Restaurant in Bali failed to meet even the most basic expectations. From the tardy service to the lackluster food quality and exorbitant prices, it's evident that this establishment falls short on multiple fronts. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a satisfying...
Read moreI can assure that this is one of the best Indian restaurant in Bali based on our experience. We literally had no hopes for this place because of our past experiences with Indian restaurants in Bali where the food is very costly but the taste nowhere Indian. We randomly found this place on our way back from Uluwatu temple and the the shop was not crowded at all. We initially felt that it wasn't crowded because it wasn't popular or the food was not good.
With no hopes, we ordered a Ghee Dosa, Chilly Gobi, Fried rice and Aloo Paratha. The restaurant took some time to serve (around 30-40 mins) which should be improved. The employee brought our food and we were mind blown by the taste. The ghee Dosa didn't seem like it was made with ghee but the taste was very close to what we have in South India. The sambar which was served with the Dosa was not appealing visually and I was very skeptical dipping my Dosa in it. But to my surprise, it was literally similar to what we have in South Indian hotels and the taste was amazing. Aloo Paratha and Chilly gobi were equally tasty. The fried rice was not similar to India but it had a great taste to it. We then ordered a mango Lassi and buttermilk which was again very much Indian.
I highly recommend this restaurant if you are craving for some tasty Indian food in Bali. The only drawback was the price which we felt was costly but that is similar to most of the Indian restaurants in Bali. Only if there is a suitable competition, we can see the prices going down in most of the Indian restaurants in Bali. The location is a bit away from Kuta and hence we were not able to visit frequently.
The four items above with Lassi and buttermilk costed around 2.5k Indian rupees (...
Read more"JUST DONT GO" Served chicken curry to pure vegetarians - We had a really bad experience in this restaurant. We are pure vegetarians and had ordered chapati and veg Kolhapuri without garlic. The service was very delayed. Later when they served us the food. There comes the shock. We almost had started eating the food and realised they have served us chicken curry instead of veg Kolhapuri. I informed the waiter and asked for the bill. The waiter was not even apologetic or did not even understand how bad the situation was. Later I walked to the counter and talked to the cashier. He seemed to be too busy to pay heed to me. Later he offered to let me go off the bill. But I insisted on the bill and I also informed him that I am going to give a bad review on Google. Later he felt the heat. But he did not care. I am writing this review to all the Indians out there searching for Indian restaurants. Please be careful of what is being served in this restaurant as the staff is not sensitised on such practices that we follow. I could not give a zero star. Hence giving a single star. The owner seems to be an Indian but the restuarant is run by local Balinese staff. They do not have any practice and process that we assume would be there in Indian restaurants when it comes to cooking vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. So be careful. The cashier did not charge for the veg Kolhapuri. But that doesn't compensate for the mistake that they have made. The owner should place some kind of a process to avoid these kind...
