Warung TG — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

During the 10 days we spent in Uluwatu, we never missed a breakfast here!!! Even though the idea was to explore and try new places, we couldn’t because every morning all I could think about was going to Warung TG because everything was so delicious!!! I always had the banana pancakes with granola and honey, fruit, and a cappuccino, all sublime! The fresh juices are excellent. Along with the pancakes, I tried avocado on toast, fruit salad with yogurt, dragon fruit bowl, and chia pudding with dragon fruit, all delicious! My boyfriend always chose savory dishes like Egg Benedict with bacon, American breakfast, and nasi goreng….

I want to point out that the food is prepared fresh to order with fresh ingredients (since we were always the first to arrive in the morning, we saw the fruit, eggs, and meat being delivered every day). Amie, the owner, and her staff are wonderful both in preparation and kindness. Her mother is so sweet and adorable. Staff is great, prices are reasonable and obviously many people had a good experience BUT not all dishes are nice and of good quality. Today I have sore tummy and I’ve eaten in many warungs.

We ordered a few things: Grilled chicken breast was tasty but very salty Nasi goreng was tasty but I doubt the quality of the oil used. I had 1/3 of it and today I still feel the oiliness. -Tofu tempe curry - extremely sweet and the broth didn’t seem right. I ate only the veggies. -Tempeh burger- huge fried patty, mayo, etc. If you don’t care about calories or oiliness probably ok

My biggest issue was the cleanliness of the kitchen. When you go to the toilet you pass tru the kitchen and it’s terrific…also...

We wanted to come here because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was completely different. All of the food was extremely oily. So much so, that we lost our appetite midway through the meal and feel very uncomfortable after eating. The potato wedges and fries are completely tasteless. The service was nice. They are very nice people, but please, stop with the huge amounts of oil. Also, we asked without eggs and even clarified multiple times. She repeated our order, confirming ‘no egg’ We still had eggs...
