In all my culinary experience, I have never come across super arrogant small eatery like kyu that has very inconvenient ambience and mediocre food. And far as I know Japanese owned eatery usually has Japanese hospitality and great service standard. As their loyal customer I am extremely disappointed by today’s experience. So I ordered food via whatsapp today, I ordered chicken katsu don and extra additional teriyaki sauce which I know there is extra charge. As I remembered that in my last order a month or two ago, they gave me very super duper tiny amount of paid extra sauce I told the resto today to give me a bit more than last time. But when the food arrived it still comes in teeny weeny amount of sauce and i took a video and pic of it and to make sure that it is literally 1 spoon ( photos attached) I told the shop that the sauce is too little for a paid sauce, but to my surprise the resto said that if i dine in at the resto I have to pay 15.000 idr for the same amount of sauce, so the 5000 they charge me is already good cause everything is expensive. To me this answer is absurd and unacceptable, so I said fine I will stop dining there and buying no more from them. The owner called me ( I thought he would apologize on behalf of the resto) but he called just to tell me that everything is expensive and if their food is too expensive for me I dont have to buy from them again. I am like whatttttttt????? In other resto everytime i ask for extra sauce I always pay but we all know what is the decent serving size ( not 1 spoon) And many times other restos do not even bother to charge extra. This is not about the sauce and how much they charge me anymore. This is about the disrespect they show to customers and the attitude as if they don’t need customers. No wonder i never see any occupied table every time i dine there.
————- This edit is as my later response to the owner’s reply. As you all can see how pathetic and absurd his reply here. In all of the eateries/ restos I have ever visited ( big or small , fine dining restos or 5 star hotels or even warung and kaki lima/ food stall) in Indonesia or overseas, I never ever get charged for ice cubes! hahahahhahaha what a joke! But for extra sauce, Some restaurants do charge and some do serve it for free. My concern and what matters here is NOT the extra charge, but the so ridiculous amount of sauce ( 1 medium spoon) and most importantly the resto’s response and the owner’s hospitality which is FAR from...

Read moreMy husband and I LOVE Japanese Curry and Katsu. And hereby I would like to let everyone know how amazing the taste is here! The curry tastes very similar to the one we had in Japan, this is by far the most delicious japanese curry in Bali, even much more delicious than the ones in Jakarta. Not only that, the katsu is out of this world! The meat is very thick and juicy, and the flour is so thin and crispy. I can't fathom how happy I am to have found this place.
Truly a HIDDEN GEM! It's a small warung with no air conditioner but it's very clean, and the owner cooks the food themselves! Service is nice, waiting time is proper, food is top notch, and for this quality the price is very nice also!
Next, we ordered okonomiyaki. My husband and I agreed that their okonomiyaki is the best in Indonesia. We were originally from Jakarta but we really love Japanese food so we went to a lot of Japanese restaurant in Jakarta and also in Bali, we have tasted lots of okonomiyaki, and this one is really the best!!
Dear owner, thank you for opening your store in Bali, we really love it!!...
