We went here because of the good reviews. But people who claims this is authentic have never eaten Vietnamese food in Vietnam! Trust me I visited Vietnam many times and cook Vietnamese myself ;)
The broth of the pho just taste like an Indonesian beef ball soup (bakso). Usually you should have tasted the spices in the broth like cloves, cinnamon, ginger, star anise and coriander seed. But unfortunately it was disappointing.
The fried spring rolls was not fried crispy, is was still soft. The fried dough (cakwe) was tough. The ‘wet’ summer rolls were small and not rolled properly. No Vietnamese fish sauce and Chili dipping sauce available (nuoc cham).
There are also language mistakes in the menu. For example “bun bo xiao” should have been “bun bo xao”. “Xao” = grilled, “xiao” doesn’t exist in Vietnamese. This is a noodle salad dish. Although they write “bo” = beef, they serve chicken = “ga”, should have been: “bun ga xao”. So totally different things.
I think it’s a somewhat average Indonesian-Vietnamese restaurant. But definitely not authentic! Owners are Indonesian as well. The people were very friendly though! And the portion of herbs and topping are generous. I wouldn’t recommend sitting outside because it’s really noisy from the traffic, as they are located on a...
Read moreFirst time trying Vietnamese and Thai food and it was amazing! I tried Pho Bo (Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup) in regular size. The beef broth was tasty and as you can see, the herbs are super fresh! The portion of each dish itself was big, so if you want to try other food, you can just order one portion and then share it.
We also tried Thai Papaya Salad and it was super refreshing. The dried shrimps made it even umami. I hope we got a little bit more peanut 🤭. Definetely will come again to try other menu. BTW, I saw in the menu the salad seemed spicy. I don't like spicy, but the waiter said we can decide the level of spiciness or in other menu, they serve the chili in a separate plate. So it is safe for someone who doesn't enjoy spicy.
*🐖 contain (non-halal) parking lot is quite tricky if you bring car, but the resto itself is spacious. Available...
Read moreI went here on one sunny Saturday. I've been passed this place many times and always willing to try as I am a vietnamese food enthusiast. The place was small and nice. The staff also nice, especially one polite and helpfull guy. There's not so many options and the menu is mixed between Vietnamese and Thai. I tried their pho bo regular size and it was good (the broth was tasty and light) and the portion is just perfect. My girl ordered crispy pork belly and it's quite plain. One big bummer was the toilet is out of order during our visit, and as it was very hot outside, we...
