Lembar Lombok was our fifth stop on our 28 day cruise, and we were fortunate to hire a private car that took us to the breathtaking Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu waterfalls. Despite the rain that started while we were at the waterfall and continued throughout the day, our spirits remained high.
After mentioning to our tour guide my wish to try authentic Indonesian food, he brought us to this remarkable restaurant. From the moment we pulled into the parking area, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. Staff immediately brought out umbrellas and carefully helped with our children, ensuring we were comfortable and cared for even before stepping inside. It quickly became clear this was not just any restaurant — it felt more like a beautiful resort, nestled in serene surroundings that took our breath away.
We initially were seated in a large dining area, but then I noticed the charming bale huts overlooking lush rice fields and expressed a desire to sit there. To my surprise and delight, several staff members quickly brought umbrellas and personally helped move our entire group — including the kids — to these private huts. Their thoughtful attention made me feel truly valued and special. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with the stunning views, was pure magic. It was a perfect moment that I will treasure.
Though I felt a bit guilty that they had to go out of their way to accommodate us, every member of the team remained gracious, kind, and attentive without ever making it feel like a burden. Their warmth and professionalism added so much to our experience.
We ordered the family set meal, which was generous beyond expectation. My daughters were thrilled to see the satay included, while I was enchanted by the variety of dishes. The meal featured perfectly grilled fish served alongside a spicy water spinach salad, tender skewered satay, and crispy fried tofu. Everything came with fragrant steamed rice, fresh vegetables, and their incredible sambal — which I absolutely adored. I am obsessed with sambal, and honestly, if you gave me just sambal and rice, I’d be a happy camper. Every bite was bursting with authentic flavors and made me appreciate Indonesian cuisine even more.
After the meal, my husband enjoyed a well-made cappuccino, and the kids happily sipped on hot chocolate. The entire dining experience was not just a meal but a heartfelt connection with the culture and people.
The food was excellent, but what truly stood out was the kindness and genuine care of the staff. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable in every way possible. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking not only delicious traditional food but also an unforgettable, gracious...
Read moreI think the chicken was a bat. Very small and no meat on it. It looks like what a bat would look like if you cooked one, disgusting. So I ordered the chicken satay instead but I was suspicious of that one so I couldn’t eat it, it didn’t remind me of chicken in taste, texture, color when dismantling it, let’s see if there will be a Covid 2.0.
It was very expensive and not even close to being worth it.
Nice restaurant but atmosphere gets a 3.5 because there was no people there and they totally ruin the vibe with light blue napkin boxes.
I never write reviews but constructive feedback is needed...
Read moreI had experience having a school event utilizing a hall at Dapper Sasak. The hall is a combination of indoor and outdoor with paddy filed view. So it should be safe from the rain or too much sunlight. The staff we have been in contact with was communicative. By making purchases on kids' lunch boxes and snack boxes, we can use the hall along with chairs, big tables with the table clothes and free use of electricity.
This arrangement is helpful to organizations planning their...
