Tucked away in the heart of Jogja, Mak Semarangan isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. With a legacy spanning years, this establishment boasts authentic Indonesian recipes passed down through generations, offering a delicious journey through the island's culinary heritage.

Step inside the well-decorated haven, and you'll be greeted by a warm ambiance that's both charming and inviting. While adults delve into the rich tapestry of history showcased through unique decor, children will be enthralled by the playful atmosphere, making it a perfect destination for families.

But Mak Semarangan's magic extends far beyond its aesthetics. The true star of the show is the food. Each dish is crafted with care, using original Indonesian recipes that tantalize the taste buds. From savory classics to vibrant regional specialties, the menu caters to diverse palates, ensuring there's something for everyone.

And let's not forget the service! The friendly and efficient staff adds to the overall positive experience. They're always happy to answer questions and make recommendations, ensuring your visit is smooth and enjoyable.

But the journey doesn't end with your meal. Mak Semarangan offers a treasure trove of fun souvenirs, allowing you to take a piece of the experience home with you. Whether it's a handcrafted trinket or a delicious treat to savor later, these souvenirs serve as delightful reminders of your visit.

In conclusion, Mak Semarangan Jogja is more than just a restaurant; it's a cultural gem waiting to be discovered. With its delectable food, charming atmosphere, and rich history, it's a place that caters to all ages and interests. So, whether you're a solo traveler, a family on an adventure, or a history buff seeking a unique experience, Mak Semarangan offers something...

My wife and I went here for some of their Portuguese egg tarts, felt a big hungry so stopped in and had some food. I had ikan asap, pedas sekali dengan nasi..... Oh boy this was good, very nicely smoked fish not too strong it was very good. For the price, very good... I think it was about 30k rupiah. My wife had ikan bandeng (may have spelt the fish wrong), that was divine too, it came in a soup and with rice... That was very tasty, we've both had these dishes elsewhere but here is the finest we've found so far in jogja. As for the egg tarts, these are some of the best we've found in Jogja and they're made fresh everyday on site, pastry is really good and the tarts are silky smooth, fantastic value and fantastic price. We're both going to go there again and try out other dishes too. The dish is banana leaf was the ikan bandeng, the other...

This is the best place for those who are not fond of sweet food but curious to know what javanese cuisine tastes like. Traditional dishes found in Jogja are usually sweet, but not the ones served in Mak Semarangan restaurant. The taste is authentic but definitely not sweet. Garang Asem (a chicken piece in sour soup), nasi goreng babat, nasi babat gongso, asem-asem kikil are amongst the dishes that I would like to recommend. They also serve delicious snack like quiche cheese, Portuguese egg tart, apple pie, lumpia. Last but not least, kids and teenagers can also enjoy having lunch or dinner with their parents if they don't want to eat traditional dishes. The restaurant provides various pasta, rice with chicken katsu or...

Love this restaurant because of its vintage/antique vibe. The floor, the decoration are so vintage. They also have a small playground for kids. However, no air conditioning in the restaurant, which I thought is good for the owners to consider. Food was okay, portion a bit small for me. I had the "Nasi Ayam Semarangan", which has a little bit of chicken portions, tofu, egg, some "lodeh" (Indonesian vegetables with coconut milk). We also had egg tarts for dessert, which was yummy. I also had the vietnamese coffee (aceh gayo) which was okay. They had the selections of coffee from aceh gayo, east timor and toraja too, which was good. Overall, really love the vibe, and will definitely come back.
