Read moreI wish our guide hadn't taken us here. I was sickened and lost my appetite for food at seeing all the animals in small cages or birds tethered by chains surrounding the dining area. I don't care if the owners claim they are well treated because keeping them in conditions like this means they are NOT well treated. They are kept for the entertainment and amusement of some people who think this is appropriate. Sadly, my worst experience so far in Indonesia. I hated that my money supported the enslavement of these animals. Suggestion: if the same effort went into creating a beautiful garden to enjoy it would have much broader appeal. As far as service goes, it was friendly and polite as is typical of Indonesia so I don't fault the staff themselves and the only upside of my business is it employs locals. The food - mushroom and tofu stir-fry and rice - took a while to come out despite the place being quiet but it was nicely presented and was OK in taste but expensive by Indonesian standards...
