Tepi Coffee — Restaurant in North Sumatra

Arriving late at Samosir from Tele in our way to Tuk-Tuk, we stop by here to grab a cup of coffee, which ended in...cups of coffee, flavored coffee, tea and some cakes😄

Entering this converted shop house, you'll arrive directly to the coffee bar with lots of merchandise (local produce and imported beverages) displayed all around. Pastry shelves were at next area. Going further inside you'll find different seating area ambience with bookshelf and some merchandise as transition area. Would be nice if they arrange non-smoking area followed by others, or divided hallway.

Communication and service was good. Mantri kopi, or barista's, put an extra effort to engage us warmly knowing that we're not locals.

Menu varieties more than I expected though I have to accept americano with less water whenever I fail to get tubruk style coffee🥲. Coffee flavored menu would be better if...

This place probably has the best view and ambience in town. Most of the food is okay, but the mushroom in my Alfredo ruins it all. I ate the mushroom and the water coming out is sour, immediately i knew it wasn't right. I tried another piece, same thing. Tried another one from the other plate (we ordered two), same.

When I gave feedback to the cook, he immediately say "no" defensively. He insisted that the mushroom is okay. I asked how would he know? He cooked it, I ate it.

Until we finish the meal, the waiter did ask us what is wrong. I told her the problem, but when I asked whether they have tried the mushroom, no answer was given.

Such a pity. Things like this happen once in a while, a simple acknowledgement would suffice, but instead no acknowledgement, and not even...

What a joke. 75% of our order was either wrong or unavailable, yet it took the staff a while to let us know. Then they started bringing us other people's food. They seriously have not got a clue what's going on. This place should be called Biden Café.

Put chicken on the Vegetarian Nasi Goreng. Put shrimp on the vegetarian Aglio Olio. Brought me Apple Cider instead of Mango Tapi.

Still waiting for my meal, whilst my wife has finished all of hers.

Whoever owns this place needs to do a bit of training for their staff, it's your fault, not your staff's.
