Nemu Kitchen — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

Very good kitchen! Especially when it comes to Western or Italian dishes. The food tastes great and will not disappoint. We ate at Nemu several times during our stay on Nusa Penida and each time our choice was confirmed. Most of the dishes are prepared in a very sophisticated way with attention to (tasty) detail and attractively presented. The location is a bit of a disadvantage: it's right on a busy road and lots of dogs run into the restaurant. Some appetizers and drinks are a bit overpriced. But the food has always tasted excellent. Give it a try if you are looking for tasty food and a varied alternative to local dishes and don't mind the prices. We have been looking for an upscale dining experience and were disappointed. The restaurant opening faces the street so expect a lot of vehicle noise. Plus with no ocean breeze it is hot inside. We were quickly sat down, and ordered our meal. Dogs wandered in and sat down near us. Their continual scratching and open sores are disturbing. We have to constantly remind the staff to remove the dogs. We had not experienced this issue at any other restaurant. The food arrived and I had chosen Indonesian fare. I found it bland to my surprise, and did not eat much. My partner had tuna steak and fared much better. The desert was good. Nemu Kitchen was a very pleasant surprise. The food is very tasty and big portions. There's a lot of variety and the meals are high quality, making anyone find something they would enjoy. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable.

We ate there twice while staying on the island and we would've come again if we had more time. The staff are also very attentive and kind. They also do takeaway, which is how we ate both times.

The atmosphere of the restaurant itself doesn't match the high quality of the food you get. From the outside, it seems more laid back and casual, but the food tastes genuinely better than your average restaurant.
