SATTVA Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

We are staying nearby and based on the good rating we chose to have dinner here. The staff is very friendly and we were welcomed in and happy to see all the menu options. My 3-year old son is a picky eater, so I decided that we share a pizza and a mixed vegetable salad. Unfortunately I was very disappointed by the food. The pizza margarita tasted dry and as if a ready-made frozen base had been used, topped with what tasted like very sweet tomato ketchup, or maybe sweet chillie sauce, hardly any cheese, definitely no mozzarella or basil. The sky garden salad was just green lettuce with some grilled garlic and dressing (I asked to leave anchovies out to make it vegetarian). It tasted okay, but for what it was, I didn’t see what was ‘mixed veg’ about it. I asked for a small Bintang, because I really felt like having one after a long hot day, but it was sold out. I just shared a small water with my son then. After we paid, we walked the 20 meters to the supermarket and bought a Bintang 😆 (they could have done that). Went here with a friend one evening as it looked busy and had live music but was very much disappointed by the staffs lack of care, the meal it’s self was awful. I ordered a chicken salad which took about 45 mins to make and had about 3 tiny bits of chicken in it when it arrived. It took me 1 min to finish it all, while my friend ordered another salad at the same time I ordered but had asked for chicken which at first they said couldn’t be done. But after some negotiations they said they would, well we shouldn’t have bothered as he literally got 4 bits of very very small diced up pieces his took 1 hour to make. It was also very expensive 80k for the salads, very disappointing. I can assume the only way they do business is by counting on that people will never go back. Avoid if you don’t want to be disappointed. Go to oregano just down the road, literally about 5 times cheaper with portion sizes literally 4 times the size plus the staff are so nice and...

Lovely bar and great live music. The ambiance is lovely with about 20 guests. The weather is balmy. This is my first time here. The service was non-attentive. I had the chicken burger - the patty was dry and overcooked, the bun so hard I couldn’t eat it. I also ordered the churros - deep fried sticks (that look more like french fries!). Nothing light or fluffy. No sugar or cinnamon. The chocolate sauce was cold and hard (not runny at all). The wine I wanted on the menu was sold by the glass and bottle, but I was told I could only order a bottle, not a class as there wasn’t already an open bottle so they couldn’t serve by the class - although with some persistence the waiter checked with the bar and they opened a bottle LOL.
