NOB Coffee & Eatery — Restaurant in Pondok Aren

Datang jam 16:00 mid week, antrian 5 meja. Service sejak tiba hingga pulang 👍👍. Toilet perlu more frequent cleaning n check up, so smelly n no soap when I went in.

Tuna salad cukup fresh, would prefer more varieties of greens not just romaine. Iced latte is just ok, chef recommended, but yah its just like any other latte.

Peri chicken: the meat is tender but would like more sauce/juice cause it’s too plain n bland. The original fries was too crispy like crackers (too skinny matches cut and just a tad over fried ), I couldn’t chew it, they changed it to “wedges” yg tetap thinly cut but not too crispy. when eating with children, better make a note “no chilly powder” on the fries. Again the salad should have more leaves varieties (maybe rockets or watercress?)

Thin crispy croissant is 👍👍👍 the pistachio spread was too sweet for my taste but I like the buttery flaky pastry (cause i’m not a fan of all crombolonis). They know their pastries, son’s fave is croissant cookie. The basic butter croissant is delicious with sandwich filling.

Overall, I enjoy their appetizer n pastry more. Cheese cauliflower is ok, thought it was baked but turned out it was fried. Turkish egg was devine! Eggs perfectly poached, pratha was crispy, beef soo tender, the gravy a bit too salty though.

"Honestly, I'm struggling to understand the hype around NOB Coffee & Eatery. It was packed, which initially seemed promising, but the experience fell short. The beverages leaned heavily on the sweet side, not to my taste. The cake was average at best, and alarmingly, I found a bug on it (photos attached for proof). I didn't want to cause a scene, but it definitely dampened my appetite. The crowds and the average food didn't justify the wait. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and focuses on improving their cleanliness standards. There's potential, but significant changes are needed."

Update: I'm pleased to report that NOB Coffee & Eatery contacted me within 24 hours of posting this review. They were very apologetic about my experience and genuinely concerned about the bug I found. They asked for more details about my visit and assured me they will brief their staff regarding the hygiene of their products. As a gesture of goodwill, they offered to send me complimentary dishes. I visited this place twice and was very satisfied with the Turkish eggs and ice matcha. Overall, I would love to return and try different dishes each time. Here are my thoughts:

Smoked Salmon Chips: The first five bites were good, but it became overwhelming because the salmon chips were too thin to balance the creaminess of the avocado and salmon. Rating: 3/5.

Turkish Eggs: I loved the yogurt and poached eggs, which came with beef ragu and naan. Overall, it was amazing, and I would definitely order this again!

Green Goodness Salad: Rating: 3/5. I tried to make my own green goodness salad, so the dressing didn’t taste like goodness dressing at all. It wasn’t great and needed more sauce. I would skip this next time.

Sakura Maguro Salad: Rating: 4/5. This was definitely better than the green goodness salad. The creamy sauce was delightful, and the tuna was alright. I really loved the sauce.
