Sea Sky Beach Club Lovina — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

Wonderful pool with view on the beach! Regarding the restaurant and the access to the pool, it was a big mess. We are three persons, me, my mom and my sister. Indeed, before we arrive (we were not staying at the hotel) we asked about the prices both on instagram and WhatsApp. The number on WhatsApp answered us first with those prices : Access to the skimming pool only was 300k per person. If you take the “offer” swim and dine (access to the swimming pool + one dish with only 3 choices and one beer) was 250k per person. As we wanted to eat we took the offer. But once we ordered the instagram page answered us that the price was 200k per person minimum spend in the restaurant (so you can choose whatever you want on the menu) with access to the pool included. We already have our little burger in front of us so we explained that if we had known this we would have pick the 200k per person price as you could eat and drink much more with this! The manager offered us to pay for what we ordered and complete it with other dishes so we could spend a minimum of 200k per person. Now, a second problem occurred as I asked what we have spent already and he told me 146k. I asked him, by SHOWING him if it meant that we had to spend 454k more (200x3 : 600k so 600k - 146k = 454k) and he told me that yes indeed it was the case. So we ordered for about this amount. When we had to pay the bill was 957k for the three of us. I didn’t understand and he explained me that the 146k we already spend at the beginning was actually PER PERSON. So again another misunderstood. We had to pay much more than we intended to because they couldn’t understand from the beginning (even if I asked several times to be sure and I even showed them the numbers). Anyway, we paid the whole thing but we’re really disappointed. Make sure you ask online every details regarding the prices and the organization! Regardless of this, the waitress was really nice and felt sorry for this, it wasn’t her falt at all! She was as much confused as us. We probably won’t come back because of this even if the place is beautiful. 320k per person is definitely too much for an access to a swimming...

I chose to visit this place because of the sunset. The view, sunset, and overall atmosphere were fantastic.

However, a good view is not enough if the staff service is terrible.

Unfortunately, we received very bad service, and I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Here are the issues we experienced:

The food took too long, we waited for around an hour, even though there were only two tables occupied, and we were the first to place an order.

We ordered a package that included food and a drink (beer/soft drink), but the drink was not served until we asked for it. That is simply unacceptable. While I was still eating, the waitress came over and gave us the bill and asking about the payment method. I never asked for the bill. It felt like we were being asked to leave. When we said “later” to the payment method, they still came back within 5 minutes with the card machine. Why she did not see if we did not finish yet with the food? It was only about 10 minutes after receiving the food you all gave the bill and force us to pay? Please we can pay the bill we would not leaving without paying 😴

We actually wanted to order more and I had actually planned to order dessert and more drinks to stay longer. But suddenly we felt full and just wanted to leave. We followed the waitress’s cue to pay and leave immediately, without even finishing our drinks.

The food was quite tasteless. At first, we were okay with it, but after experiencing the rude and rushed service, it simply wasn’t worth it anymore.

Please train your staff better. This experience was extremely disappointing.

There are still many great places in Lovina with good views and good service. I will not recommend this place to my clients or anyone else.

That said, the view was really beautiful.

Such a beautiful beach club *actually – kids friendly, stunning ocean view, great vibes. The place itself deserves 5 stars, but let’s talk about the experience.

The moment we entered the hotel lobby, we were greeted politely by some staff outside. Nice start. But then came the ‘highlight’ of our welcome: when asking where the beach club was, the receptionist, with a strong voice and high tone, quickly reminded us, ‘Kak, there’s a minimum spend of IDR 150,000++’. Wow, thank you for assuming right away that local guests might not be able to afford it. What a warm Balinese hospitality twist! Interestingly, we noticed foreign guests being welcomed with smiles and a full explanation of the beach club regulations.

We went straight to the beach club anyway. Guess what? Out of all the guests (mostly foreigners), we were the only locals. Our kid had fun in the pool, food was actually delicious, and at the end, we spent about IDR 550,000 – way above the minimum spend.

The food? Tasty, but definitely overpriced. So yes, locals not only get underestimated, but also get to pay extra for the privilege.

If you’re a local thinking of visiting: maybe save yourself the lecture and your wallet. There are plenty of beach clubs in Lovina where the view is free, the food is fair, and respect doesn’t come with terms and...
