Plain Food, Weak Drinks, and Service That Pretends to Be Kind

I visited this restaurant with a 500K voucher and informed the staff at the entrance. The staff took it and said it would be deducted from the total later.

I ended up spending about three times the voucher amount, but when I checked the bill, I realized the voucher hadn’t been applied to the total. So I asked about it, and only then did the waiter explain that they had used it separately for a certain number of items. 🤷‍♀️

When I asked for more details, they just showed me the names of the dishes. 🤷‍♀️ I had to ask again for a proper and clear breakdown. Finally, they brought their device and showed me that the voucher had been used for some items worth “around” 480K.

Um… where did my 20K go? Who said I didn’t mind just losing it?

Their explanation basically came down to: “You brought a 500K voucher, but since we don’t really know how to handle it, we just subtracted around 480K and charged you the rest.”

I mean… okay, it’s only 20K and it was just a voucher. So I left. I didn’t want to ruin my day by arguing over it. But the whole situation really bothered me, and I couldn’t understand how they handled it. The lack of transparency and communication was just unbelievable.

I felt seriously disrespected and hope they at least learn how to manage their own voucher system and give proper guidance to future guests.

Plus, the portion sizes were shockingly small. Try ordering the sushi roll, you’ll probably laugh...

Such a disappointing experience. I went there with my husband. At the entrance, lady Desa told us the entrance fee was 100.000 IDR per person. I literally asked her three times if this is the only ticket they have or if there are other tickets or prices. She said NO.

So we went inside and put our stuff on one of the beds by the pool. A guy from the staff came and asked if we need help. Turned out we had to pay to lie on these beds. He tried to explain us that we had to spend a minimum amount on food & drinks to sit there. I told him it’s not a problem and how much it would be. He couldn’t really answer my question and told us to leave and to go to the restaurant. I tried to take one of the beds and told him we would pay for it but he still denied. So he called the lady Desa and she told us, that we only bought a ticket for the restaurant not for the pool beds. After that she said we have to pay 1.500.000 IDR additionally. The whole place was staring at us as it was a super embarrassing scene for about 15 minutes because of fatal miscommunication and bad English from the staff.

Why don’t you just communicate that clear from the beginning?

Also be aware that Desa opened our backpack with all our personal belongings to check if we have a water bottle with us ?? I mean are you guys ok?

At the end we ate at the restaurant already super pissed and spent 1.000.000 IDR on 2 meals and 2...

Saturday 17 August on Indonesia's national day we were invited to eat at the new The Jungle Club, Celuk, Sukawati we got the menu card and after we had ordered a waiter came and informed us that we could have a free drink with alcohol if we wanted log into google rewiev and gave the jungle club 5 stars. By presenting our 5 stars on google rewiev to a waiter we were immediately given a drink with alcohol. I call such method unprofessional our food was not good. there were two of us who ordered Tenderloin filet 280 grams. price IDR 500,000 with tax per person. the filet was ok, we ordered the filet medium. the filet was served with cheap canned bolognese sauce served with tasteless mashed potatoes. the other served with fried small potatoes, nothing homemade but bought in a supermarket, it's disgusting. The Caesar salad was fresh. but absolutely nothing to rave about. two other people in our party ordered a dish with duck. later after the second course had been served, they contacted the waiter who told them it was a singature dish where the duck meat was red/light red (see photo) we judged that the duck was not deep-fried well enough and therefore did not eat it because it was not deep-fried meat. again disgusting food.

to your information. The jungle Club is not in UBUD but in...

We arrived without a reservation and were pleased to be seated promptly, which was a great start. We weren’t initially aware of the minimum spend requirement, but the reception staff explained it clearly—any unspent amount is deducted from your bill, so there’s no risk of being overcharged. Our waiter, Adi, was excellent—polite, attentive, and quick to recommend delicious options for our meal. He was also very accommodating when we asked for additional drinks, bringing them without any fuss. The service overall was outstanding, complemented by good music and a fantastic atmosphere. The food was exceptional; we shared the grilled sampler, and both of us enjoyed it thoroughly. It’s a highly recommended choice if you’re looking for a variety of meats, fish, and tasty dips. And how can I forgot the cauliflower? I'd eat that everyday if I knew how to cook it like the chef did. The only downside was that we didn’t bring swimwear, as the pools look incredibly inviting. It’s a stunning location with breathtaking views—definitely a place to visit!
