Good Quarter — Restaurant in Samarinda

This place has Good atmosphere, Good music, and Good food for all the customers to offer. I would strongly suggest you to come early for dinner because it’s closed at 10 pm which is too early for my liking. My best friends and i as well as my family usually go out to cafes and play UNO card games. But the schedule usually starts at 8 or 9 pm. So, this place is not recommended for those who plan to stay until late at night.

Closing at 10pm seems to be normal for many eating places or cafes but it’s too early for us just like what i told you earlier above. I would still get out of bed at that time. For the coffees and other beverages you might want to consult with the waiter or waitress about how it would taste like, whether it has some sugar or not in it. Originally i would try the es teler or podeng ice. But they ran out of them. So, i just had a brown sugar tea with boba. The boba balls were stuck with one another, therfore it was difficult to suck them through the straw which was already quite big. At the end of the day, the bobba got stuck and in the straw and i spilled the tea on the table. My partner was laughing saying that i was like a little kid.

My wife and i had a date this saturday and we decided to try out this new place which has the architecture of an old building in Samarinda. I believe this house or building which is converted into a cafe must have been standing here even before i was born. Got Bebek Goreng with Nasi bunga Telang, Truffle pasta, waffle, and 2 beverages that made by TEMA's tea. I'm so grateful for this place 🥺 but the duck's portion was kinda half-hearted for 2p portions, especially they served the duck and the rice in 1 plate, even though it supposedly for 2p portions. I think it's better to serve 2 portions of rice in 2 plates, with the duck on another plate, so the customer understood that it's for 2 portions. I wish they add 1p portion for the duck on the menu instead, for people who couldn't eat too much. Nice ambiance. I hope they will add egg tart near in the future. And Vegemite sandwiches maybe? What a lovely find! I came here in the morning, so I was the ONLY person there. I ordered butter croissant and coffee (long black, no sugar).

The coffee was GOOD!! They used special beans from Australia (arabica) and I loved the taste of medium acidity on my mouth (I always prefer arabica with medium acidity than robusta). The croissant gleamed and crisp.

They had one unit of AC that leaked though. That wasn't fun when the water dropped on the back of the sofa (near my shoulder)

I wish I could visit again to try the other foods. But alas, I only visited Samarinda from Jakarta for 3 days (and had no chance to come here again due to my work). Maybe...
