Cinema Bakery in Yogyakarta is a delightful fusion of two of life's greatest pleasures: cinema and baked goods. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked treats and the warm ambiance of a cozy movie theater. The concept alone is enough to pique anyone's curiosity, but it's the execution that truly impresses.

Let's start with the bakery offerings. From artisanal bread to decadent pastries, there's something to satisfy every craving. Whether you're in the mood for a flaky croissant, a gooey cinnamon roll, or a savory quiche, Cinema Bakery delivers with quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship. And the best part? You can enjoy your treats while watching a movie – it's a match made in heaven for cinephiles and foodies alike.

Speaking of movies, Cinema Bakery doesn't disappoint on the cinematic front either. The selection ranges from classic films to recent releases, ensuring there's always something for everyone. The cozy seating, state-of-the-art sound system, and crisp projection make for an immersive viewing experience that rivals any traditional theater. Plus, the themed movie nights and special screenings add an extra layer of excitement to the already captivating atmosphere.

But what truly sets Cinema Bakery apart is the seamless integration of these two elements. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite before the show or settling in for a marathon movie night with friends, the bakery's offerings complement the cinematic experience perfectly. It's a place where you can indulge your taste buds and your love of film simultaneously, creating memories that linger long after the credits roll.

In summary, Cinema Bakery in Yogyakarta is a hidden gem that seamlessly combines the pleasures of good food and great cinema. With its delectable treats, diverse movie selection, and inviting atmosphere, it's a destination worth visiting time and time again. Whether you're a local looking for a new hangout spot or a traveler seeking a unique cultural experience, Cinema Bakery delivers...

Went here on a slow breezy Monday afternoon. I expected it to be less crowded and no waiting line, oh well I apparently got disproven rather quickly. Apparently it gets more crowded around 5pm, so the earlier the less queue you'd get.

On the side of seatings and ambiance, I'll give it a 4.5/5. The seatings are mostly outdoor, fairly comfortable and the lighting setup on the evenings are very cozy (and as everything in Jogja, very "instagrammable"). I would like to spend some time sitting here on the evenings. The waiters are nice and responsive too!

Now the the main reason why I give this a 3 star is because of the foods itself. Why? Because I found that the cakes and pastries here are too sweet to my liking. Here's a review of each of the foods I ordered: -Strawberry Pie (Rp. 25k, 2/5): HUGELY underwhelming, or probably I expected too much (or maybe the combination of both). The biscuit was too hard and too sweet, the cream is way too sweet, and even the strawberry is less on the sour and yet again very sweet. Literally everything is too sweet and when eaten as one the flavor profile is just... Sweet. Couldn't even finish it. -Sebastian (Rp. 30k, 4/5): It's enjoyable, even if it tasted like a ton of milk and a teeny bit of cheese. Nothing very notable, it's just a cheesecake with a burnt top. -Danish and croissant (Rp. 18k, 3/5): Eh, too sweet. Not enough butter on the dough, or they probably used the less expensive and sweeter baker's mix, either its way too sweet to my liking. Wallah everything is way too sweet here. Can't find any comparable croissants here in Jogja but the one's I had in Levant Boulangerie in Jakarta were at least 3 times better and "only" 8k rupiah more. -Kurtoskalacs (Rp. 30k something, I forgot, 1/5): No. Way too soggy. Cold. That's all. Also the ones in Two Hands Full in Bandung is way nicer (and hot).

Personally, I wouldn't return here. But the place is lovely and if you're only looking for a comfortable break this is fine and priced fairly...

I arrived here at 7:30 AM for breakfast, and about 90% of the menu was already ready. Quite impressive considering they open so early.

I started with the baseline item I try at every bakery—the plain croissant. It was buttery, slightly sweet, and overall enjoyable. Texture-wise, I've had better, but it's still miles ahead of that copycat Crcls Bakery, and it's more affordable too.

The tourte was nice as well. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what it's supposed to taste like, but it reminded me of a high-quality zuppa soup, which I really enjoy.

The lemon tart was another highlight. It had a great balance of sweet, sour, and eggy flavors.

The coffee, however, was incredibly bitter and left a rather unpleasant aftertaste. Based on my experience brewing coffee at home, it’s likely because the espresso machine wasn’t dialed in properly, resulting in burnt coffee.

The seating area is comfortable—clean and shaded, thanks to the many trees around. However, there were a few flies, which was a minor annoyance.

Service was friendly, quick, and polite. They even offer free mineral water and parking, which is super convenient.

Overall, I’d definitely come back if I’m in the area. I’d love to try more items on the menu since it’s clear they know what they’re doing with their bread. While it doesn’t taste fully “authentic,” the slight adjustments to suit the Indonesian palate are very welcome. I might steer clear of the coffee for now, but that’s understandable—after all, it’s Cinema Bakery, not...
