Thank you for being a friendly host to me. It truly feels like home.
Meeting Mas Panca and Mba Adel today is one of the best coffee experience I have ever had. At first I was kinda hesitated to come since it was almost 3 pm already and I thought the operating hour was over that day. Eventually I decided to pay a visitâwhether it's still open or I had to be back again another time.
There is a waiting room outside. I waited for a while, and then I was invited by mba Adel to come inside the main room. Mas Panca and mba Adel then greeted me warmly. I was stunned by the atmosphere of the bar itselfâit was totally a distinct universe compared to the world outside. You will feel the calmness, its simplicity but rich of delicate details. Probably it's because of the turquoise colour of the wall and the lighting inside the room itself.
Since I knew I was in the good hands, I let mas Panca chose the right kind of coffee for me. Eventually Yellow Bourbon was my choice. I didn't regret every drop of coffee that was served to me. It was simply divine. And I was amazed by the subtle gesture of wiping off the outer side of the cup by mas Poncoâsomething that can only be done by someone who is very passionate about what he does. Mas Ponco said that I had to try his cappuccino (which is my "golden standard"). Both mas Panca and mba Adel are really enjoyable to talk with, and I am looking forward to meet them again.
Some reviews suggest that the cheesecake here is a must-try item. Also some reviews said that the Japanese iced coffee with Pangauban beans (pineapple and mango notes) is also a...
Read moreWell, they are rebranding the coffeeshop into very different concept this time. It was a cafe-like experience, but, now they are focusing on the journey of enjoying a cup of coffee, slow bar they said.
REMEMBER! Don't get fooled by the opening time on google. Visit their instagram page, choose the latest post and you will find the opening time. Each day can be different.
Perhaps, if you guys know the place when they were a cafe, you might get upset because almost there is no chairs and tables to work on (i mean, typical cafe.. only waiting room). But, if you are into to get to know your cup of coffee, you might find the experience is delightful.
I was coming here on saturday morning, right after they open. There was another customer, so, I was told to wait in the waiting room. Well, nothing special about this or the room, there are some sofas and paintings. You can walk around a little bit tho..
Then, I was called. I met with Mas Ponco and Mbak Adel, the owner of Pitutur Kopi. As he asked what my preferences of coffee, then Mas Ponco will make the order. The point of the new concept is getting close with the customer. Mas Ponco will gladly tell you where the origin of the beans they roast that day, if you are a newbie, you can asks anything about coffee.
I wasn't able to chit chat for such a long time. Because there are more people waited outside. As for the packaging, when you decide to dine in, they will give you a real cup. But, as for to go, your order will be put in a to go paper cup.
After all, depend what you are after, their coffee is superb and I definitely...
Read morewas quite surprised to found out about their new HQ coz I thought their brands gone for good when their bausasran cafe closed down. after years hiatus of home brewing, I started to hunt for roasted coffee beans! I asked my friend and one of the recs is pitutur, an oddly familiar name. with such building anticipation and excitement I gave their new home a visit.
rumah pitutur offers a whole lot of different feeling and experience compared to pitutur cafe. within the smaller space, their new approach in serving curated coffee beans feels more inviting, vaguely entertaining, and tranquil. although I miss mas Ponco's book collection (I read half of Pamuntjak's Amba and few pages of Wibowo's titik nol at bausasran), rumah pitutur hits too close to home.
Tried their unique frinsa tempe and blueberry muffin, came back a day after for mbak Addel's notorious NY style cheesecakechefskiss and ratamba which was bomb (brought the 100g for souvenir cuz its too good to pass up). No regrets.
*a tip: check their insta @/pituturkopi for the opening hours, it varies daytoday.
thank you mas Ponco and mbak Addel for making my short visit worthwhile. definitely will be back to try other drips and the...
