In the Serpong area, Warung Sunda is my top choice for the best Sundanese cuisine around.

First, they offer free refills of sambal and fresh vegetables (lalapan), which immediately leaves a great impression and showcases true Sundanese hospitality.

Second, many of the staff here are native Sundanese, and it shows—in their warm service, friendly tone, and respectful mannerisms. As someone originally from Bandung, dining here genuinely feels like coming home.

Third, the ambiance is cozy and traditional. The wooden tables and benches add character, though they may feel a bit firm for some; to me, that’s part of the restaurant’s authentic charm.

The food is consistently delicious. My personal favorite is the crispy fried gurame, paired with steaming hot rice and mango sambal—an explosion of flavor that’s simply unforgettable.

This is the kind of place I’ll always return to whenever I crave authentic Sundanese...

Where do I start. It was just so bad, a bit of a letdown. Most of the food was pretty bland, even the sambal—which is usually the star of any Sundanese cuisines, didn’t have much flavor ... how does sambal end up bland?

The only dish that really stood out was the grilled prawns, they were delicious and definitely the best thing that night, at least they tasted like something.

We chose to sit outside that night—which was nice in theory, but the cushions were so thin that I got uncomfortable rather quickly. We also encountered mosquitoes problem, but I guess we deserved it for choosing the outdoor space.

On the upside, the overall vibe of the place was nice, and the service was good. The staff was friendly and attentive, which helped make the evening...
