During my stay in Indonesia, I was recommended this place by a friend. At the time I had the day to myself so I thought it would be cool to check it out. I have been to many cat cafes in Tokyo, Japan and most of them are very small and has a entrance fee with a time limit. Not only that but the food and drinks are also quite pricey. So it was to my surprise when I arrived that I was told that there is no fee to enter and I could stay however long as I liked.
The venue was very clean and had a very open office-like feeling. It felt much like the office lounge at my work where I frequent often to get some work done except with cute kitties to keep me company. The entire place felt like a modern and contemporary playground for the cats with all the ledges and steps on the walls. Coincidentally I came on a Sunday and apparently Sundays are bring your own cat day, and there was quite a number of of people who did show up with their cats. Now since I was on vacation I could not bring my cats, but that did not stop me from playing with all the cuties there. The staff was very accommodating and introduced me to a few of their kitties.
Mama cat was the fat cat. I love fat cats. Contrary to her name though, they told me that she is pretty high maintenance. Lili was the white as snow kitty. She was one of the shy ones, but I stayed long enough for her to come to me by herself. It made me feel accepted when at the end she started rubbing against my leg. Gatta is the one with a cute and fluffy tail. I was told that Gatta prefers to be the one chasing than being chased so the staff gave me one of their cat string toys and told me to run around with it. Kitty is the youngest cat, and I was told that he likes to try to snatch bites of food. After being told that, I thought that it was about time to order some lunch (no ulterior motive I swear).
I ordered the japanese hamburger steak and was also recommended their homebrew coffee in a bottle. The hamburger was pretty tasty but it was the coffee that I was most impressed with. Now I have been to a lot of coffee shops and most of them usually do it very sweet. This homebrew coffee though is just the perfect taste to me. A lot of the times I will go back to a shop just for the coffee. This is such a place that I would regularly come back to if it was near where I live. The prices on the food and coffee are really cheap and frankly I am astonished that it is that low for such quality.
I spent nearly the whole day there and got a lot of work done. It was stress relieving being able to play with the cats to refresh myself every so often before going back to work. The music was not loud at all and it made me feel at peace.
All in all, this was an extremely satisfactory experience for me and I so do very much wish that there was a location just like this in Southern California. As a bonus the staff also gave me some key rings from their grand opening promotion for me to remember the place. On the way out, I got two more of their homebrew coffee in the bottle; super convenient. I used the bottles throughout my duration of my stay in Indonesia. I highly recommend this place as well to anyone who is in the area to stop by and meet their...
Read moreThe ambience is nice but well maybe if you dont used to cat you may get annoyed with the "cat smell" since it was quite strong but not that kind of smelly smell, just a typical cat smell. The price really match with the quality and portion of the food. We usually not into food above 50rb, but this menu with range 60-70k definitely makes us want to buy again (in the next visit ofc). We order beef hamburg and chicken nanban and omg both meals was spectacular! I really have low expectation for cat caffe because from my experience what they sell was only the interaction with the cat, but this one really give the best food. The beef hamburg was not dry, and the sauce is the winnner for me, remind me of my favorite semur lidah (the taste and the softness of the hamburg). The portion was also balance, with the rice not too much and veggie too included. Same also goes for the chicken nanban, the nanban sauce was so complimenting the chicken and the light sauce? I dont know what is that but the chicken have some of that too, maybe kinda soy sauce. The rice, veggie, and chicken portion was also perfect. I could say both of these meals is not the type of food that only serve big rice portion and small protein, they portion of protein was perfect (even huge for people with small appetite like me, but i got my plate clean nonetheless). The only reason it got 4 stars was because sadly our bag was being peed by the cat huhu. We really didnt expect the cat will be such a rascal, and so we just left our bag and play with the cat, and that was the moment one of the cat pissed on our bag. The employee was good enough to clean the piss but well, they just wiped and give a lot of perfume to cover the smell. Lesson learned i guess. We not sure if we will coming back or not, but i definitely will remember the food as one of...
Read moreOverall, the place is quite good and it doesn't have an entrance fee. However, you have to buy 2 menu items to enter this place. That totals to around 60-90k per person. Therefore, I recommend to only come on weekdays since you can stay as long as you want, and therefore it's worth the "entry fee"
The cats are rescues, and therefore they can fight amongst each other, and are quite prone to bite you and scratch you. It's definitely not friendly for very little kids, but if your kid knows how to handle cats, they'll definitely be fine. The cats are quite cute too (as all cats are), but they tend to ignore you if you don't have food 😂
I also recommend to: Download the "cat guide" at their Instagram page (click their linktree and choose the "Our cats" option), so that you know which cats are friendly and don't bite/scratch (much) Use the toys available to play with the cats. Some cats are crazy for it! Buy the wet food since they like it more (the wet and dry food both cost 10k). However, ask for a plastic spoon and ONLY feed the cats using the plastic spoon. Otherwise, they will try to steal the whole packet via biting and scratching you
Personally, it's also a good working/studying space since the cats ignore you and the place is comfortable (they have lots of charging ports and free Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is good too). But if you're bored, you can play with the cats for a while, and then get back to...
