I•za•ka•ya / Japanese-styled bar which literally small concept; affordable or you may say inexpensive for the foods and snacks (including drinks that is not contain alcohol due to the government regulation).
Located on Jl. Palm Anggur No. 1 within Taman Jajan BSD (behind Kopi Tuku BSD). There are lots of parking space for cars and bikes (or you may park across Taman Perdamaian, if you come from Jl. Angsana from the west side).
The store itself have the Japanese vibes; such as manner from the staff, the ambience because they put on some Japanese music (some musics are from the anime; you’re welcome weeabo), furnishings, counter and wallpapers are decoratively fits the authentic origin from Japan. Cozy and quiet mood.
The foods and drinks we tried are : Hot Ocha 15K Crispy Chicken Skin 25K Ramune Strawberry 30K Mentai Beef Cheese 35K Ramen (Shio) 35K in IDR (with total 140K for two persons excluding service charge)
For dine-in, we prefer to choose indoor seating, even though there are also some tables and chair outside for outdoor, below the tent (forgot to take the picture of outdoor seating area).
The indoor is relatively small space, consist only 6 tables and a few chairs (visited here during the pandemic and physical distancing rule) yet somehow placed presentable and clean at the same time. We sat near the window which provided great view to outside the store and cool spot for taking pictures.
Using IPhone 11 Pro, we took a few photos, between 4 PM to 5 PM, on a cloudy afternoon, kind of a bit gloomy and dark. Not a perfect time to capture the great moments here due to...
Read moreJapanese Kitchen , simple - cozy - tasty - homy. Designed very similar to Japanese Dining Place , with a lot of Japan Attributes and Accessories , make it enjoyable like you are eating at Japan. They have indoor (about 25 seats) and outdoor (about 35 seats) , simple wood tables and chairs , facilitate full air cond at indoor , very comfortable to enjoy there , with typical Japanese Open Kitchen you can smell the good fragrant of the cook and it will stimulate your appetite. They have good hospitality and fast serving , the kitchen is very busy but they serve good tast and good quality of food and drinks.
They serve many Japanese foods like katsu , nanban , teriyaki , gyoza , mentai , ramen , and yakitori , they use beef and chicken for the meat. Their chicken meat yakitori is very good and also chicken skin yakitori is also good , serve hot and the soy sauce is very tasty. They serve ocha , coffee , choco as their beverages , but there are special drinks there , they have Halal Beer (made from apple soda) and Ramune ("Hata" Japanese Soda , melon - strawberry - blueberry). Also they have dessert , called Kakigori (mango and strawberry with shaved ice and real fruit) , its delicious.
Recomended to try , price wise $$ , really worth...
Read moreThey're selling the location, not food. the waiter kinda rude, when my friend asked if they have ordinary ice tea, he laughed at my friend, like really-really laughed. I mean, what's up with that? Is it that weird asking for an ice tea???
Me and my friend ordered Yakitori, Momo (Rp25.000 for 3) & Kawa (Rp25.000 for 4), I asked them to make it all salty (shio). But looks like they don't understand or can't make it salty, without telling me. The yakitori come covered with thick black pepper sauce (weird). The chicken meat was really dry and hard (feels like the meat is overcooked and been sitting too long in the freezer). It tasted like a really bad chicken satay but with black pepper sauce instead of peanut sauce. Trust me, real yakitori do not taste or looked like this.
Gyutan don (Rp37.000) & Mentai Chicken (Rp25.000) tasted not great, too much rice and paprika, with too much sauce.
To bad the food isn't as good as it's decoration. Yeah it's cheap, but not really recommend if you want to eat yakitori, or Japanese food in general. Good for "nongkrong" with your friends, or getting that "instagram" post. It feels like they slapped some hiragana and then called it "Izakaya" without even learn how to cook or...
