Warung Bu Kris — Restaurant in Serpong

If it’s your first time at Serpong and you miss Javanese-Based culinary whilst at the same time clearly considering your cleanliness and hygiene, Warung Bu Kris should be on your top list.

It named warung (road booth), but located in a compound with modern building. The compound itself located right at the exit of Bumi Serpong Damai-Ciater Highway, being sandwich by Pasar Modern BSD (BSD Modern Market), Ehipassiko Buddhist School, and Urban Height Residence Apartment.

It serve most of Javanese-based most sought culinary, from Ayam Goreng, Jeroan, Sayur Asem, Lontong Cap-Go-Meh, and one of it’s own authentic menu Tahu-Tempe-Uget-Uget (a mixture of salad, tofu, soybean tofu, anchovy, being wrapped in a chili flavour).

Due to it’s reputation and friendly price, vacant seating is something you rarely found especially if you go during eating time (lunch and dinner). It would be great if you go here slightly before that time, or if you’re in a group one person can go as advance to book the table as during peak time the queuing can go up until 10. Warung Bu Kris specialty is in East Java Cuisine like pecel, tahu telor, rawon etc.

Place : only take 5-8 minuetes from serpong exit toll. It has many place for parking since it is in the commercial area (Ruko).

Food : I love east java cuisine, mostly tahu telor. The “petis” is superb. Petis is a suace made of fermented shrimp.

Drink : they have many kind of drink like a hot drink (tea/ coffee), cold (ice tea, soda), juice.

Price : quite pricy, but if you compare the taste, it is worthed.

I recommend to go there not in peak hour. Peak hour is around 12-3 pm. Come and enjoy east java cuisine with original taste...

The location near pasmod BSD. Easily find just follow gmaps. Usually there's a line during lunch or dinner. Serve Indonesian food with lot of selection. They specialized in penyetan (fried chicken with sambal) i love the sambal. It's typicall shrimp paste sambal with tomato, chilli, and lime but still raw. You can choose hotness level of the sambal.
