Cafe Aras — Restaurant in South Sulawesi

It's hard to begin, but good things first: It's clean and nice interior - that's it. But now the negatives: We ordered two appetizer, one shrimp salad and one tomato salad. The tomato salad are just sliced tomatoes with mayonnaise and ketchup on the side. No oil&vinegar neither salt&pepper! The main dish was buffalo steak-medium and I got something that looked like sliced meat, totally overcooked and with cold fries. The second main for my partner came around 1h after mine. Maybe you recognize, there is still the shrimp salad missing and guess what: it came an other tomato-mayonnais-ketchup salad as a dessert! All in all - go somewhere else! The place is located along the main road of the crowded section of Toraja Utara district. It has two floors, with the upper floor wider as the kitchen is located on the first floor. Both floor has bathroom stalls for men and women. There’s quite a range of food, with some local cuisine (but for pi’ong you might need to wait a bit longer). My favorite meal would be their mie crispy goreng, which is basically noodle that is fried until it’s crispy and then poured with something like capcay on top. The local guide brought me here for lunch and it was one of his best decision! The food served was very nice. As a matter of fact, the Nasi Goreng served here was probably the best I had during my entire trip to Indonesia. The decor is simple but very pleasing to the eye. The young waitress who took the order was was very friendly and cheerful. It didn't take long for the food to arrive and it was delicious and the portions quite large.
