IT. WAS. FABULOUS! If you ever visit Yogyakarta, as much as possible, have one of your lunches or dinners here. For your own sake, do it. It offers both traditional Indonesian fare and pretty modern dishes, so all taste buds are welcome.
In the evening (which was when our group had the wonderful dinner), the neon green lights of Raminten greets you. The waiters and staff are extremely welcoming although that gong was literally a jolt. You are led through this fantastic replica of traditional Indonesian houses.
In the center court is a pond that for practical reasons helps cool the place. Open air dining is the thing here. You can opt to have the typical tables and chairs but I suggest you do the traditional one where they sit on the floor. They have rattan backrests for you!
THE FOOD. THE FOOD. The feast we had included a herbaceous and moist chicken, an assortment of fresh salads, sambals, fried tempeh and tofu and a lot more. I can't describe each one in detail because YOU HAVE TO TRY IT FOR YOURSELF.
The drinks are amazing and the jumbo coconut drink is almost preposterous. IT IS MASSIVE. See photo for evidence.

This one, The Waroeng of Raminten, offers a pool garden view with traditional bamboo structure. Once you enter, you will see a spacious lobby where you can make your reservation, and also pay your meals after your feast.
The next room, is one of the unique features, a shop selling souvenirs, shirts, and more. You can find some past time snacks still sold here. Who knows, maybe you want to know what the kids in the past would like to snack on.
The restaurant is a wide area. You can choose whether you want to be seated on a chair or on the floor (lesehan). The food and beverage offered mostly traditional javanese cuisine, some with unique ways of serving.
