RM Ayam Bunut — Restaurant in Sukabumi

I’ve been to RM Ayam Bunut in Sukabumi twice over the past three months, but only now am I writing a review. After my first visit, I didn’t feel compelled to share because, honestly, nothing stood out to me except how insanely crowded the place was. The restaurant is quite large, with plenty of seating, but the food was just… average. I remember wondering why it was so packed when the flavors didn’t really deliver.

Fast forward to my second visit a few days ago, and I decided to give it another shot..maybe I wasn’t in the right mood the first time. The place was, as expected, packed again. But since it’s so spacious, we managed to find a table easily. Upon entering, you’re greeted with an impressive spread of dishes that look mouthwatering. This time, I tried a bit of everything: ayam goreng jantan, ikan peda, jambal roti, kentang mustafa kering, cumi balado, karedok, and more..because, well, I was starving.

The setup is self-service, so you grab your sambal and rice from designated spots around the dining area. This is where things started to go downhill. I couldn’t help but notice the lack of hygiene. There were dirty food trays, wet and improperly cleaned glasses and spoons, and the sambal station was a mess. To top it off, I saw flies buzzing around and even landing on the sambal in the cobek. At that moment, I completely lost my appetite, but I still held on to the hope that the food would make up for the experience.

And then… the food arrived. The ayam goreng jantan was dry, crumbly, and completely lacking flavor. The sambal..there were two types..was neither tasty nor spicy. Instead, it was watery and bland. For a restaurant with "ayam" in its name, I expected a signature dish, but it was a massive letdown. It’s one thing for a place to be "so-so," but this time, I felt the quality had dropped even further from my first visit.

I’ll add that I’m pretty confident about my taste. I’ve been to many places, trying a variety of foods, so I’m sure it’s not just me being picky. I gave RM Ayam Bunut 2 stars purely out of pity because it didn’t even feel like it deserved that. For such a big, popular place, the food and hygiene standards are deeply disappointing. Popularity doesn’t always mean quality, and unfortunately, this place is proof of that. Safe to say, I won’t be returning...

I frequently having dinner at RM Ayam Bunut with my family because it is one of our favourite places to go when we decided to hang out at dinnertime. They served various menu, from traditional foods and the other foods. There are also many drink and juices you can order. But if you want to order a juice, better to ask them first whether the juice are available or not. The place itself is very cozy, I really liked the atmosphere of their restaurant, it's very warm and welcoming. The staff are very nice and welcoming too. The price are competitive but still friendly. The parking lot is big and wide, also I think the people who parking their car outside the parking lot are they who came to this restaurant as well. But don't worry, because there are parking attendant who'll managed the traffic and there rarely any traffic jam. Yep, you can visit and have a look...

Lokasinya mudah dicari setelah sampai di Kota Sukabumi. Setelah sampai dari luar terlihat tempatnya tidak luas, namun setelah masuk ke dalam tempatnya lumayan luas, ada 2 lantai. Namun untuk parkiran di depan restoran hanya cukup beberapa mobil saja, jika penuh akan diarahkan oleh petugas parkir untuk parkir di tempat sebelah restoran.

Jika datang saat libur atau akhir pekan saat jam makan siang, sebaiknya segera cari tempat dahulu dan bagi tugas denngan anggota keluarga lain untuk mengantri pesan menu makanannya. Menu makanan sangat banyak, khas makanan sunda ada ayam kampung goreng, ayam bakar, ikan goreng, ikan bakar, udang, tempe, tahu, usus, ati ampela dan macam-macam sayuran khas sunda yang sanggat menggoda mata dengan pilihan nasi putih dan nasi jeruk serta lalapan. Untuk minuman, ada teh tawar gratis dan aneka minuman seperti jus, es buah, dll. Setelah memilih menu makanan dan bayar lalu bisa menunggu di tempat nanti makanan dan minuman akan diantar oleh pelayan.

Pelayanan sangat baik, pelayan sangat cekatan. Pesanan kami sempat salah, setelah kami panggil pelayan untuk komplain respon sangat cepat dan langsung dibawakan penggantinya. Jika datang saat ramai, harap sedikit sabar, karena pengunjung sangat ramai.

Area makan luas, rapi dan bersih. Namun untuk di lantai 2 tempat saya makan, toilet agak bau dan wastafel sangat kotor karena hanya ada 1 wastafel. Saran agar bisa ditambah wastafel agar tidak penuh dan kotor.

Rasa makanan enak, sesuai ekspektasi kami karena kami lihat di google review dengan rating sangat baik dan jumlah review yang banyak....
