I read all one stars reviews and I think this place wasn't that bad. As a local with a caucassian partner, we decided to give this review based on our differences.

Pro: Authentic local meal from Lombok, you should try it. The young lady waitress is friendly and using basic english for communication. Overall food taste good and salad fresh, more adabted to western tongue because I don't feel any MSG. Beer price cheaper compare than others or minimart, example big anker Rp 45.000, small Rp 35.000 per bottle. Juices fresh and great no sugar and no milk as per requested.

Cons: Waiting time is abit long, more than 20mins which is okay for chilling people or not in rush. Warung facing to the main street it is okay for you which doesn't really care about noise. Beer glass wasn't clean properly, better drink stright from the bottle. Need a fan because too hot...

So my friend was desperate to try the famous local Lombok delicacy, while we were visiting Lombok, and staying in Kuta. She was asking all over town where to find Ayam Taliwang. Eventually managed to track down this place, a bit out of town and right on the big road. It's nothing impressive to look at, and was deserted when we turned up. But, they delivered big time. The food was freshly cooked just for us (there was a wait, but nothing crazy), we had four dishes and rice each, plus drinks for 170k total. Each had superb flavours and fresh as you like. Also, the lime juice had real zing, which I love.

Ignore the nasi goreng, pizza, burger etc, Do yourself a favour and crack on with vegetable Taliwang, Ayam Taliwang, veg sereh and beberok instead.

(Chicken is local, kampung style, so may still have its head on, but at least it won't be bloated with...

I have no words to describe how deeply I have fallen in love with their Sate Ayam. I have been having it every day for the past week and it seems to taste better everytime. For an extreamly cheap price, you will cry of happiness when you put that delicious skewer in your mouth. This might be the thing I will miss the most from this country. They are also so warm, they just smile and laugh when they see me coming for an other round. It’s a shame that being 1 minute ride away from town makes them not have many tourists, I would like to encourage whoever is reading this to go there and try...
