Ambience (4/5) Ikan Bakar Legian only has a small neon sign so it is quite difficult to spot from the bustling Magelang Street. The interior is quite simple and they only provide indoor seating area. There are few empty aquariums inside the restaurant. Nonetheless they add several Balinese ornaments and Balinese music was also played, so there was a bit of Bali in Jogja vibe.
Service (5/5) The staffs are all friendly and they always respond to our requests fastly.
Taste (10000/5) I visited this place twice and everything we ordered taste REALLY good. By REALLY I mean they really put effort on the seasonings, they give garlic genereously and the sambals esp. sambal for urap tastes amazing. Even the rice is so fragrant, almost like Nasi Uduk. I ordered Telor Dadar Crispy too and it tastes surprisingly delicious!
But the main star is their kerang bakau bakar bumbu bali. To me, it even tastes better that the one in Bali! The mixture of spicy, sweet, and savoury just melts in your mouth. Their grilled fish are also amazing although it seemed they are not too fresh. In addition, they also provide Balinese Ice Cream (I forgot the name) which I previously thought was only sold in Bali.
Overall: 5/5 Amazing dishes at a very reasonable price.
Keep up the work, Ikan Bakar...
Read moreHands down! My best version of Balinese cuisine in town. Let's be clear: The place is very comfortable, clean, and neat with air conditioning. They provide proper sinks to wash your hands, unfortunately the bathroom is quite small and little bit hassle. Their ambience is superb! As they claim, it is a mini Bali. The decoration, accessories, even the smell of "sesajen" The taste is very delicious yet unique since the seasoning and the texture are just perfectly blended in mouth. Marsh clams lalah pedas is the best one. They give us 3 kind of sambals, which tasted sour, spicy, and umami in one!! Staffs are friendly and helpful Serving time is great, as they estimated in menu Very worth to try, considering the taste and the price is very reasonable. 100%...
