Nice ambiance, good service, superb wine and great seafood! The restaurant has a good ambiance and although it's fairly big, the service is quick and correct. Shortly after you get seated, you get free bread and water. Unfortunately (it seems to be a trend in Ireland) they missed the opportunity to serve the butter in a nice way, since it was still in its package. A missed chance. The mussels as a starter is almost a main. So much mussels...uuuf. Quality and taste were good, not exceptional. In my opinion the mains were served too quick after the starters, but the fish was very nicely prepared. Taste was exceptionally good and the sauces are also great. The vegetables and jacket potatoes were a bit bland and boring. A bit more attention to these parts and it would have been a perfect meal. If you're up for red wine, I absolutely recommend the 2009 Chianti classico riserva. It's is a great wine. Overall dining experience...

A little dissapointed with our visit yesterday. The food that we received was superb but unfortunately we didn't receive any sides with put sea bass and lamb cutlets. We were told they would be right out but after waiting we eventually ate the fish and when we asked I'd they were still coming the reply was they thought we didn't want them anymore because we started eating the fish and lamb. €25 for a piece of fish and 2 cherry tomatoes was a bit steep without the sides. They did apologise and take our 3 bulmers and coke off the bill. We were there for quite sometime and wasn't offered another drink or dessert at any point. They didn't even ask how our food was. There were plenty of staff. The food was really good but disappointing about the service and the side dishes. Hopefully that can be worked on as it's a great location and food that we did get was great. Not great leaving...

I don’t normally leave google reviews in fact I don’t think I ever have , however I feel compelled to do so on this occasion . First the good bit - Lovely location, nice food.... BUT service terrible .... Main was bought out but due to waiter being distracted by a some well dressed women that were part of a wedding gathering outside the pub he failed to inform me the plate was steaming hot (melt your fingers hot) which is exactly what it did when I moved the plate to be in front of me and not at the side as again due to his distraction the plate was more or less dumped at the side of the table. Took 10 mins for him to then get a bowl of water for me to cool them down ...... A quick sorry followed by the FULL bill and that was that. (Not even a discount) So food and location I would give 4 stars but service I would give negative if I...

Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations. The staff seemed indifferent, and we were kept waiting for 30 minutes before being seated. Upon arrival, we noticed the bar area was unoccupied and seemed like a comfortable place to wait for our table. However, our request to wait there was inexplicably denied, and instead, we were directed to wait outside. This was not only inconvenient but also felt unwelcoming, especially considering the visible availability of space indoors. Once at our table, the wait for our food extended to an agonizing 55 minutes. Our children were restless and hungry, and the restaurant did not prioritize their simpler dishes to appease them. They have a really poor service and steep prices. I cannot recommend this restaurant and suggest diners look elsewhere for a good experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this gem of a restaurant, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The Thai Seafood Platter was a highlight - bursting with flavor and just the right amount of spice. The combination of succulent seafood and tangy tom yum sauce was absolute perfection. The Seafood Chowder was another standout dish, rich and creamy with a depth of flavor that rivalled some of the best I've had. It's clear that the chef knows their stuff! What's more, the prices were very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality and quantity of food. One tip: be sure to make a reservation on weekends, as this place gets packed! But trust me, it's worth it. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Came here with my wife and her uncle Sean from London. Ordered the Atlantic seafood chowder, prime kinvara striploin steak and mixed berry pavlova dessert. Hannah our server was friendly and attentive. The seafood chowder was very flavourful, big chunks and full of seafood (fish, mussels, salmon), easily the best I have had. The steak is locally sourced as is their other meats and seafood. Steak with the mushroom cream sauce was delicious, good portion, and cooked perfectly. The dessert was a meringue and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, a nice finish to a great meal. The restaurant was busy, ate in the expanded windowed section. Highly recommend this restaurant if you love seafood and steak.
