The Post House — Restaurant in County Mayo

One star for friendly staff, I got buttermilk pancakes. Looks lovely on the plate but very disappointing.

I paid pretty much €10 for 3 small pancakes bit of fruit and syrup. It was hard as a rock very strechy, I couldn't even cut through with a knife. It was not fresh at all. The easiest thing to make as well. It seemed to be 2 days old and just reheated.

I did not complain to the staff, as it's pretty obvious what the chefs are doing. If you have a small menu, you should be able to make...

We popped in at lunch time and it looked pretty full, but the staff were really helpful and quickly moved a couple of tables so that the four of us could be seated. We were right in front of the cake cabinet - yum! By the time we'd eaten really tasty lunches (toasties and jacket potatoes with lovely sides), we were too full for the cake, but they were happy to box some up for us to take home for our tea. Delicious food & Speedy, kind service! The manager, possible owner was incredible. He got us seated and grabbed a high chair for our daughter. Our little one was getting Hangry and he constantly took time to smile, say hi, or quickly play with her to keep her happy. The food and coffee were delicious! It was the perfect lunch on our way...
