I would leave less if I could. We arrived here after a hike up ticknock. We arrived at 2:30 and found somewhere to sit, we had menus and spent about 15 minutes trying to get someone's attention to take our order, after no success, we decided to go up to the kitchen to order. They took our order for a table of 4, nothing complicated - fish & chips, Burgers & chips etc - all fryer food. We then waited for about 20 minutes and asked a waitress what the wait time was like for food, she said about 30 minutes. An hour after we had ordered, we were told by a waitress that it was busy but our food was on the way. We decided after 90 minutes of waiting for our food that we had enough. We left and on the way out, went towards the kitchen to let them know how long we had been waiting and that we were leaving. The waitress said 'OK' and removed our docket from nowhere near the front of the line in terms of orders. God knows how long we would have been waiting. A horrible horrible experience with no communication or anything to customers. Will be happy to never return. I would avoid at all costs. No communication to even tell us how long the...

SHOCKING EXPERIENCE

I went to Blue Light Pub on a Sunday afternoon around 14:00 with 3 friends, we grabbed some coffees for 17.7 euro. After we drunk the coffees some musitians arrived, so we decided to stay for some pints. We waited for the waiter to come and take a new order but he kept running up and down without considering us. Eventually, around 16:10 the manager came asking in a rude manner if we were to dring something, so we said yes and ordered some pints. Right after the waiter came to place a "reserved" plate on our table. So I asked what's the meaning and they answered that there were customers coming at 17:00, I replied back that we were customers already sitting it that place, he said they have a policy for customers drinking only to stay max 2 hours at the table. I went to speack with the manager and the answer was the same.

I felt unwanted and poorly served. I believe such rudness cannot be forgiven. Never again in such place where they do not know the basic rules of savoir-faire, quality service and politness.

Moreover, the place was dirty and the coffee quality was...

I visited this pub recently, amazing place for a drink and when busy it is an amazing place to socialise! I had heard from a number of people that they now have a proper food menu and that the food was really good, when there we ordered seafood from the menu, we ordered cod fillets with peas, chips etc plus we ordered the scampi and chips. To be honest our experience was not very good, we noticed that the fish was not cod, it was a cheaper white fish like coli or basa which was confirmed by our server, if you have cod fillets listed on your menu then it should be cod fillets! (No sure this is legal) Also the scampi was overcooked as it was hard and quite chewy!

Overall a very disappointing experience, to be honest there are too many pubs serving amazing quality food to be accepting sub standard food!!!

I would definitely return for a drink and to socialise but I would never order food again, I can only encourage you to...

It's ok. It's grand for a beer and chips but I wouldn't go here to eat only. Food was just so-so. They got a few food and drink orders wrong, and the waiter didn't bother delivering a drink up because we were at the very top of the beer garden. The waiters seemed surprised when we asked for cutlery and napkins after they brought up our food. In what world do you serve food like slow cooked beef without knives and forks? Bit of an attitude, if they actually provided water bottles to the table we wouldn't have had to order drinks constantly. I would suggest to management don't have the top area open if you don't bother to serving it. The bathrooms were ok. Bit of pee on the floor so be careful not to slip. 4 stars if you just go for drinks only low down, but don't bother for food and drinks if you are up at the top garden. There are other nearby pubs higher up that are better for food.

Okay, here's a version incorporating that: "I had the most amazing burger and chips at The Blue Light this afternoon! The classic burger with crispy bacon and cheese was exceptionally tasty, and the iceberg lettuce added a delicious crunch. The outdoor seating area was lovely, with beautiful views of the surrounding remote area and its stunning scenery. It's the perfect spot for travelers to grab a bite after a hike on one of the nearby forestry walks. It's also a beautiful stop-off point on your way to Johnnie Fox's Pub and is easily reachable by the 44B from the Luas in Dundrum. The service was also fantastic - friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place for a casual meal with a view!"
