Went to the Grange on the 11th September with my partner and her sister we booked a table for 5-30 we were told that we could stay at our table till about 7-30 as they had another booking but they would get us another table no problem we had something to eat and a few drinks the staff were very nice the even reminded us from the last time anyway everything was fine till this lady who I found out later wes the owner told us we had to give up the table and put us outside in a smoking area not to happy what really got my gote up was the table next to ours 4 people sat there all the time bought NO FOOD and were still there when we were asked to leave after spending €140 on food and drink it looks like the management in this pub think more people who they know than someone who spends €140 I taught by law you had to buy food not so IN THE GRANGE IF YOU ARE A REGULAR CUSTOMER one rule for one and one...
Read moreThis was a first time visit and was spur of the moment decision. Slightly apprehensive as it is situated on a major road junction and in my opinion needed a spruce up, painted. I was happy to find that it was a proper local bar with people chatting away and if I recollect no music. Except for the rugby and football showing in separate areas. The staff were helpful, efficient and easy to talk too. It had a several roasts on display with other hot meals. This was your normal pub grub so beloved by many of us. Not served on slate,wood,buckets etc. The soup was warm with the usual, followed by a Roast Turkey dinner with full trimmings, it was really worth it and plenty of it. Read moreNo surprise that The Grange have received awards, this place has the best carvery I've ever been to. Meat is always well cooked, not too dry, and the chips are amazing (fairly sure they're cooked in beef fat). Inside is comfortable although it could probably do with a facelift. Finding parking can sometimes be an issue, but apparently they've arranged for extra parking spaces across the road on Sundays which is good.
Last but not least, the staff are wonderful. A mix of ages and experience helps keep things running smoothly. They are never upset if you bother them for extra gravy or this or that, and the servers are always very friendly and accommodating.
