I went here today. I arrived and waited besides The please wait to be seated sign. Two guys came in after me and stood closer to the bar. The waitress came over to see us and went to them first. I asked if I could be seated first seeing as I was there first and the two apologised. I sat down and the two guys took the table beside me. I waited to order, but the waitress seemed busy so I continue to wait. I was slightly annoyed because I was by myself and just wanted to order some food and would’ve been quite quick to serve.

The waitress went to the two guys first.

There were many tables empty inside so much so that the waitress told us to choose the table we wanted ourselves so it didn’t appear to be a peak time for you.

It also appeared that there was only 1 server on, the waitress with whom I had this unpleasant experience with.

I think they did apologise Todd. That’s normally what you do when you accidentally skip a queue.

I’m surprised to hear that anyone was taken aback for me standing up for myself so that is unfortunate.

It’s a pity that the two gentlemen were seated and served first before someone who arrived before them.

I don’t believe it was you who served me and I believe I was waiting for a lot longer than 2 minutes.

I am sure you do your best to make everyone feel welcome; I just didn’t feel I received that on this occasion and I don’t feel that that was through any fault of mine own.

I am sorry if I have offended you in any way however I believe it important to share my experiences with other potential customers in the interest of fairness and openness.

I can see that you have a large amount of positive reviews so it looks like you are doing a great job. I, however didn’t experience the same standard at the time I went which is unfortunate.

It might be helpful to clarify to the customer who’s serving them in situations like this.

Unfortunately, I would not feel very comfortable to return to your restaurant, given your disparaging response to my review and attempts to undermine the credibility of it.

The food is fantastic, unfortunately they have a 2 hour time limit which is understandable due to large bookings, however drinks orders were incredibly slow. The food and bill came quick enough however two of the guests at our table were only able to have two drinks in the two hours, the rest of the time was spent trying to catch the attention of a staff member. There were two dips forgotten about but still charged for, they didn’t have one drink and two different waitresses came out to see if we wanted another drink one after the other so there’s a lack of communication there somewhere too. I worked in hospitality for years and I understand it gets busy and stressful and hectic but if you’re going to impose a 2 hour limit at least be on the ball with the drinks orders. The understaffing is obvious so I don’t blame the wait staff in any way shape or form this would be down to management.

The peaches and cream cocktail is nice if you like creamy drinks, it’s very heavy and creamy. It looks nice though. However it did come a bit under the rim and I’ve never had, or made in a previous job an “almost full” cocktail before, I would have been killed for that.

The chips are without a doubt the best chips I’ve ever had in my life! The garlic aioli is very close to Eddie rockets burger sauce, I would advise ordering extra dips as they put a very small amount on the burgers.

The Po-Boy and Farmer Burger are lovely.

All in all it’s a great place to visit, I’ll return but on a quieter day when the staff are under...

I have an older review down below. Things have significantly improved. I still go in after 4 or occasionally at 12:30. The service is now dramatically improved. The food was always great. The Farmer Browns is great on tap. Lager is good too. Really nice lady in charge, great smile and pretty eyes, always a bonus when she’s there. I like her! I like the bar. I like eating there. Service very good now. Fast. Good staff. It’s a full 5 stars.. The below has been replaced with all positives on my part. Look forward to getting in the evenings.

Look I have to be honest, this is a review regarding service. The service is appalling. I can only tell you I go here for lunch and have done for some time. You can come in here holding a gun up at the ceiling and they’ll just miss you. Literally every day, it’s a battle, maybe 20 mins to get served. The same staff who know you will walk by you repeatedly. It’s like a comedy event. They’ll be serving beside you and you’ll be staring at them and they’ll deliberately avoid even eye contact. Too few staff? No I think the staff are just really bad at serving. Batman at lunch appears mute, being honest. Terrible for customer service. It was shut and recently re-opened.
