Tldr: Do not eat there. If you have to then eat anything but the tasting menu or the fois-gras.
The staff was very friendly and I did like the restaurant itself. The food however, was not what I expected. We had reserved a table and the tasting menu. The first course and the appetiser were very good so we were looking forward to the next part of our dinner. The second course, the fois-gras, however was a let-down indeed and not even close to what we had at other restaurants. The third course, which was fish, had an outstanding sauce while the fish itself was just that. Cooked fish no salt or other seasoning from what we could tell. The fourth course was made up of meat and potatoes. Taste-wise you could have similiar meals in restaurants that do not ask for even half the price. The fifth course was a small bland piece of cheese with honey and some grapes. There were more types of cheese available which we could see on other tables. But we only got one. Before the last course we got a small glass of ice cream which tasted quite exquisite. The desert, was excellent too. If the fois-gras had been better or if I had paid 100 € less I would have given it 3 stars but for around 250 € for two people, drinking tap water and two glases of wine per person it does not deserve more than 2 in my opinion. To be fair we have not been to many restaurants in Dublin so it may be better than most restaurants around town. Also it could be that a three course meal would have been a better option with more variety per dish but it is not possible to rate what we...
Read moreI cannot recommend the Mulberry Garden enough - my husband and I chose to host our wedding there for an intimate group of family and friends. We planned this event from New York having never seen the venue ourselves. The manager was completely accommodating and make us feel at ease in the whole process.
It was really the perfect venue for our 60 guests for a seated dinner. Everyone was in awe of the food and we had the whole place to ourselves. Our wine glasses were never even half empty and the staff were unbelievably lovely.
I will always remember the evening as it was filled with warmth and happiness as all of our guests who had traveled intentionally came together over incredible food.
We will be sure to return to the Mulberry Garden for dinner when we travel to Dublin and if you're looking for a special place for an anniversary dinner, a date, or even to host an event similar to the size of ours - it...
Read moreHad dinner with my wife here last Friday, A really lovely restaurant, food was fantastic. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairing and this is what let the restaurant down for us. We have eaten in many restaurants around Ireland and Europe and always struggle to finish the wine when we choose the wine pairing, this was not the case in Mulberry Garden. There was at most two mouthfuls of wine in each glass, we had to order a glass of wine when having one of our courses, so we could enjoy the full plate of food with wine. It is a shame that this is our lasting impression of the restaurant, charge extra if need be, but I go out to enjoy good food and wine, and the wine measures really let this meal down. A real shame as apart from that it is a lovely restaurant, with great...
