Confusing visit. Walked in with my three young kids to get a table for lunch for us plus my husband that would arrive in minutes. Asked for "4 plus a high chair". Was told without hesitation by the man that greeted us that they "didn't do high chairs". Thought about leaving, phoned my husband to tell him to grab the travel highchair on the way out. Then, as we are sitting down, the man comes out with one saying that he found one. ??? He didn't provide menus as we sat. We flagged down a server who provided menus, including kids' menus with crayons. So "they don't do high chairs", but they're prepared to feed kids from their very own kids' menu? We ordered and then waited at least 30 minutes and then kindly told the server that the kids were starting to get antsy (screaming was imminent - hungry kids just can't sit still that long) and starving and we'd be forced to leave to get them some food if the ordered food didn't come soon. She checked on the food and it arrived 5 minutes later for a total wait of 35-40 minutes, even though we were one of about three total parties sat for lunch - there was hardly anyone there compared to how much seating there was. I'd hate to think how this place operates if they got up to capacity. The food was pretty decent, but probably anything would have tasted good since I was so hungry. I ordered "Tempura" fried fish, which was clearly just a normal fish and chips meal. Tempura is a very light thin coating with a whitish color and this coating was thick, gooey in places inside, yellow, and extremely salty. Not tempura, but good as far as fish and chips go. The pickled beet salad was really good. My husband said his BBQ pork sandwich was great. So the food is good, but they're just not operating with efficiency for some reason. Maybe something was going on in the kitchen that day -...

We arrived, a group of 5, and noticed the place was decidedly chilly. When we asked we discovered that the heating had broken down. We sat there in fleeces and jackets, and noted that the place was virtually empty, just us and another table at 10pm on a Friday evening. Who wants to eat and drink on a wet October evening in a place that is freezing cold? We raised this with the manager who placed a blow heater in our direction but it was entirely inneffectual. We spoke to the manager again when we asked for a bill, who informed us that there was nothing he could do, and he gave us a card for someone to call the next day. He then assured us that someone would call us - and we're still waiting. The cold ruined our night, we couldn't wait to get out of there. and the lack of followup on their part was equally disappointing. Frankly they should have closed until the heating was sorted to prevent bad publicity like this Judging by the small numbers in there, the lack of attention to basics like a warm restaurant and the inability to follow up on a complaint, I don't think this place will remain in business long. Food was OK, nothing special and service was...

I am a bit confused about this place. We booked a table for 2 and were given a choice of tables. We showed the gentleman who greeted us our Covid certs but he did not ask for I.D.. Had we not insisted on showing them, I doubt we would have been asked. There was no real checks done to see Covid certs as far as we could see & we were close to the door. The main question being asked was " I presume you have the vaccine" to wish the answer was always yes. Staff did not wear their masks properly & did not cover their nose. On to the food. My wife has the 3 cheese flatbread which was nice but it was lacking in flavour. I had the fish spring roll which was delicious. For mains we had the sea trout & the chicken supreme with baby potatoes & both were absolutely fabulous. The flavours were amazing. The pub was pretty full & noisy & I could not fathom out why they needed the music blaring. People had to talk loudly to hear each other. The last thing was that the staff came around too often to check if everything was all right. We were asked the same question by 4 different waiting staff & we were only there for an...

Been here twice. First time had the Sunday Roast. Waited 45 mins for it. Barman handed it to the table behind us who had just ordered theirs 5 minutes before. They apologised and brought the food 30 mins after that which was very good. Total wait time 1hr 15 mins for the food. This week went on Sunday for the same Sunday Roast. We were informed they only do Sunday Roast via booking a table from 15th Sept onwards and couldn't serve us the Sunday roast even though it was on the menu. We tried to have a nice time but the staff were really loud discussing the amount of tables booked and trying to find ones for more bookings. I ordered the closest thing on the menu to a Sunday Roast which was the pork. Costing me €21 with no vegetables on the plate. Just two lumps of pork and a piece of Black pudding with some apple shavings.

Great welcome to Donnybrook Nice tasteful refurbishment looks fresh cosy setting and inviting. Great facelift from previous setup with better utilisation of space. Very family friendly ! Staff are very friendly and attentive. Tried the wild mushroom arancini 9 euro (u get x3 only) and & chicken wings a bit undercooked (they readily took it back for a fresh batch for 12 euro (although also small portion I felt). My only comment is the portion is way too small for the price like x8 chicken wings approx?! I think it will evolve as it goes along & keep an open mind to feedback. It already has a lot more people than previous so best of luckšŸ¤žšŸ¾promising start ! Looking forward to try rest of menu!

Updated review: this place is not worth it. Changed the name, and the quality of the food just went to the floor. Only good thing was the Argentinian waiter, he was really nice. Past review: Great place to share a nice dinner with friends. The service is excellent, even the owner comes to the table to check if everything is fine. We ordered burgers with chips, and the French fries are outstanding. The burger is above average, but not the best I’ve tried in Dublin. I recommend you to try the cheeseburger. Reasonable price, and the location is very good as well.
