Myself and my wife went in for breakfast. The place was about 75% full. We were showed to a table but then the waitress forgot about us so we called her attention and ordered the potato hash and avocado plus tea and coffee. There were two waitresses on duty, the other waitress was bringing water to her tables and getting their drinks immediately. After 25 minutes with no drinks we caught our waitresses attention to ask for the drinks. No apology for the delay but a smart smile. She gave the order to the barista and we could see the barista make the drinks and leave on the counter. We then watched our waitress do everything but deliver our drinks, she cleaned tables, chatted with her colleague and stood at the barista but had no inclination to get our drinks. We had no choice but to go up to the counter and ask the barista if they were our drinks. Our waitress gave us that lovely smarmy smile and said I’ll check, knowing full well they were ours. When she delivered them I told her that her service was terrible we waited 25 minutes before having to remind her and then another 5 minutes once they were poured. Her response was she was busy, no apology. Ten minutes later the two tables either side of us were served their meals, the first table arrived 25 minutes after us, the second 30 minutes after us. At this stage we called over the other waitress and complimented her on how efficient she was but we were still waiting. She tried to defend her colleague saying she wasn’t working as long as herself. In the end we had no choice but to leave.
We live in Malahide so we know lots of amazing alternatives, we headed off to Deja Vu and had a gorgeous breakfast with great service.
It’s a pity the Greenery allow shocking service to ruin their good food from the kitchen but take it from a...

Read moreToday we were told they don't accept dogs on their outdoor terrace. I don't remember the last time I was at an outdoor eatery in Dublin that didn't allow dogs to sleep under the table. We were offered a table at the front door as the compromise. There's no heater here or wind cover and it was 2*C, so we obviously couldn't sit there. (It was unsurprisingly vacant) I'm quite surprised in 2021, the Greenery are this far behind on pet policy.
I've been many times in the past and the food is great. I assumed they were a modern restaurant and allowed dogs. I didn't call ahead as that route is frequented by people walking their pets from the coast road. I won't make the mistake again. I recommend FishShack or any of the spots on new street in future for any of you looking to bring your furry friend out with you while you grab lunch. Very disappointing, and an obvious 'opportunity loss' for a restaurant looking for business...
