Siam Thai Restaurant - Malahide — Restaurant in Fingal

I met up with friends today at one of the most talked-about restaurants in Malahide. They had ordered noodle dishes, which were generous in portion but rather unremarkable in flavor. Wanting to experience the ingredients more directly, I opted for a stir fry — but unfortunately, it was quite underwhelming, especially considering the nearly €30 price tag. The dish had a soup-like consistency, far from what I’d expect from a stir fry. Overall, the flavors were overwhelmed by an excessive amount of sauce, which masked the taste of the individual ingredients. Given all the glowing reviews on popular sites, I had expected dishes where presentation and the balance of flavors would shine — but that simply wasn’t the case.

Aside from the food, the overall experience was disappointing, mainly due to the service. I was running about 15 minutes late, and my friends were planning to wait for me so we could order together, as we had the table reserved for two hours. However, by the time I arrived, their food was already on the table — they felt rushed and pressured to order before I got there.

Despite clearly stating I didn’t want any sides, the waitress still added rice to my order, which led me to believe it was included with the main dish. I only realized it had been charged separately when I saw the bill.

Later, I asked a waiter to confirm the order, and another staff member came over to check how things were going. I mentioned my concerns about the consistency of the dish, and he kindly explained that the liquid was meant to be part of the sauce. He was very polite and offered me a side of vegetables as a gesture, which I appreciated.

There was also a minor mix-up with the wine — I ordered one type and was brought a different one.

In the end, I truly appreciated the effort made by the male staff to address my concerns, but I left quite disappointed by the service from the waitresses and the overall quality...

I booked a table for 2 for Saturday the 4th of Nov, we had arrived early so we were told to take seat and enjoy a drink which we did, the table was booked for 7pm, we were shown to the table at 7.10.

The table was not great as we were seated beside each other instead of facing each other, and there was room for the table to be adjusted.

We asked for drinks and still water, we then ordered our starters and mains. The drinks arrived but no water. The starters were nice, but this is where the 1 star service started.

The mains was ok nothing special, and the desert was disappointing. Then they started rearranging the other tables around us making us feel uncomfortable, the family beside us were basically asked to leave so they could set up.

When I booked the table I was not told that there was a time restriction. As we were leaving, we were asked how was everything to which my partner replied not great to be honest, we were then followed by a member of staff to seek why, and her way of dealing with it was to be honest quite rude.

She basically would not let us leave until we told her what colour of wine we drank, a free bottle of wine is not going to change my opinion of the place. To be honest the whole experience was not great and I will not be going back. I will be visiting my usual...

I had a terrible experience with some Asian servers. Firstly , the woman mid 40's maybe with a mole on her left temple took my order and she's kinda arrogant taking the order, me being my first in this restaurant coz I'm an avid fan of Tom yum, expecting her to be kinda polite explaining those dishes. But, she's not. I dunno if that's really her voice, second when I asked her if I could transfer to another empty table , she answered me with a very unwelcoming face and tone to check if there is someone in queue! But, hey! There's a lot of empty seats and there is no queue. Eventually, she said it was okay to transfer. Then, 30minutes have past another Asian (not being racist,I'm Asian too) server approached me if I'm all good with my order, and told her to follow-up my order coz I'm actually waiting for it, but never heard from her, didn't even bother to update me. So, again I approached another Asian server and asking me in a condescending-like manner if I asked my order altogether and if I kinda remember to whom I ordered? Like? Seriously! So I told her? That kinda old lady took my order. So yeah, food was okay, happy with the Tom yum and the rest of the food. But, my goodness what a horrible experience. These people need customer-service orientation/...
