Dear oh dear.
Seafood chowder needs a lot of work, even the staff acknowledged it was 'hit and miss', perhaps the rye bread could have had a toasted option. Just a hint of chilli would be useful in the chowder itself along with more actual seafood rather than just a dairy product soup (better to charge a little more and do it properly). I got chips as a side, but it was a necessary insurance as the early table service had left me wondering.
On that, very nice people but there was little coordination and even less prioritising going on among waiters e.g I had to ask for a menu once seated, i seated myself after waiting for 5 minutes in the back bar, I had to ask for water after my order had been taken, I didnt get my pint till after my mains was served and then waited nearly 20 minutes after finishing for the plates to be cleared while one waiter was resetting tables (it was 9.15pm by then so the peak had passed and there was no urgent need for tables).
Asked if I could charge the meal to my room, got told to go and see someone at the bar!! Just...

Read moreUnfortunately the hotel breakfast is not as advertised on the menu outside the restaurant. Self service cooked buffet, not ‘cooked to order’ hot breakfast per the menu.
Please take the menu down, we would not have paid (on entry) and stayed had we realised. Sausages, Black pudding and fried eggs all need addressing. Not the worst breakfast but not one I’d choose to come back for.
