Joshs Place Cafe & Bistro — Restaurant in South Dublin

I don't know what the food is like but don't apply for a job here. My daughter responded to an ad and the Manager, Brendan asked her to come in to work a shift. She worked very hard and was treated terribly. The manager at the end of her shift just told her she "could go now". He didn't pay her! Didn't even say "thank you for coming in". I have a suspicion this might be a regular "joke" to get people trying to get a job to work for free because the staff were laughing at her throughout her shift and very unhelpful and rude to her. Would not recommend anyone give their custom to such underhand, immoral people who would treat someone so badly.

In reply to your response to my post: When my husband called in yesterday to ask why you hadn't paid her your defense was that you didn't have her pps no. You curtly dismissed her without asking for her pps no. or anything else, you didn't give her an opportunity to converse with you, and my husband never asked you to pay her cash in hand. As witnessed by your customers, my husband asked if he provided you with her pps no. would you pay her and you told him no... We will not be calling in , nor will she accept any payment. Your suggestion above is likely an attempt at damage limitation and to salvage the business's reputation rather than a sincere attempt to address the issues. You cant behave with such arrogance and treat people badly and expect not to be called on it... You and your staff should be ashamed of yourselves, how would you feel if it was...

Ate breakfast here in October. Noone was checking Covid certs. Tried to order at the counter and the staff member started arguing with me that I wasn't asking correctly for the food item. I tried again, reading directly from the menu card and she continued to tell me that I was wrong and insisted that I order properly. This very strange encounter went on for a few minutes. Eventually I copied exactly what she was iterating. I was, at this stage, very confused, as was my partner who was with me. I remained polite, but I wish I had said something. Waited in line came to the first counter and which I come to find out is the “cold deli” when I asked for a breakfast I then asked do you make the sandwich’s here as he was surrounded by bread to which he again said in a louder tone this is only the cold deli I then said a bit of customer service wouldn’t go amiss to which he told me to find somewhere else to eat. This guy also had no mask and one pair of gloves on the whole time. Guess covid doesn’t exist in Josh’s place.
