€15.50 for a half portion carvery!!! As a local i supported the old mill through both lockdowns purchasing take away carverys when they were open. The place would always be empty when i was there collecting food with a sombre undertone. The carvey prices although a rip off you could almost justify it as it was a pretty decent portion size and nice food. Today they showed their true colours. The carvery and bar was quite busy so i ordrered a turkey dinner for takeaway. After a 15 minute wait i was handed my order with the usuaul half cup of gravy wrapped in cling film that ive become accustomed to. I did at the time feel as though the bag felt lighter than usual but ignored it. I was absolutely starving and was so disappointed when arriving home I poured the contents onto my plate. I am not exaggerating when i say it wasnt even close to filling a medium size plate. There was 3 skinny small slices of turkey, literally 2 small carrots and two tiny pieces of parsnip, one scoop of mash and a spoonful of stuffing. What a disgrace - i am only regretting i didnt take pics but i was so furious i just threw it to the dog. To rub salt in the wounds i called them twice and couldnt get through. If anybody from management even cares to read this please remember to look after your regulars - the people that supported you when alcohol was not on the menu. You have lost me as a regular due to the extreme greed I witnessed today. P.S Ive added a picture of the receipt to show this is a...

Ive been to the mill over the last 10 years and for the first time I've had to turn away the food.

I ordered a Caesar salad with crispy bacon as a starter and what I had placed in front of me was more like a soup. Way to much dressing, No croutons and soft bacon and soggy lettuce. It was terrible nothing as described on the menu.

Next I ordered a cajun chicken burger with no tomato. What again was presented was a chargrilled chicken breast with no Cajun, 2 small pieces of lettuce and the bottom bun covered in relish that tasted horiffic. I've been ordering the same meal when I've gone in the last few years and normally the Cajun burger has a fantastic Cajun sauce, lettuce and onion rings on it. I recommended it to a lot of people. Not any more, I'm not sure who made it but it was clearly not what was described on the menu. Service was very slow when normally quite fast.

I said it to the waiter and all he said was sorry about that and I still had to pay for that meal.

This is the first time I can say I've been unhappy with any meal I've bought here or elsewhere but it was that bad I had to say something. Please do something about this as the quality of the food has just plummeted.

I wouldn't...

The Old Mill is a family restaurant. That was my initial impression on the day I visited them. It is a family restaurant because it also has a kid’s menu. talking about the menu, they do not seem to have a lot of choices. But the few they have covers a wide range of tastes. I had the chicken burger which was fabulous. another in my company had a pizza which he put together. It was very nice too. In fact, the cheesecake I had there was one of the best I must say. Satisfied with food, let me say a word regarding drinks. The bar is open and there is also table service. The whole complex is very large, capable of accommodating a large number of people. The building itself is an actual mill that has been renovated for the purpose. My friend who recommended this place says that he keeps going back there mainly due to the space he enjoys apart from the food. I have nothing to say against it. although I said something about it being a family restaurant, he says he enjoys going there by himself too. They seem to pay much attention to maintaining their standards, and it is not...

Well now…mixed bag here really. Firstly the good. The staff are so great. Super friendly and on the ball, however it’s a shame you can’t tip on your card. Cash only tips, crazy in my opinion. The food is good, not great, but good (this is starting to sound like a Jonny Giles/Eamon Dunphy review of an Irish match). I would eat here again…but not sure I would be rushing back…why? Warning, if you are of a sensitive disposition you may want to stop reading. The toilets are a disgrace. It’s not difficult to clean a toilet with some bleach. The smell of stale piss was appalling, and then I was face to face with feces smeared on the tile in the cubicle. See the picture attached. I haven’t seen anything like this since the Bobby Sands days. In all seriousness, to the management, clean up your pub…you can tell a lot about an establishment by the care taken to the toilets…I am not impressed, and I am sure I am not the only one.

A charming spot with a true Irish soul! The Old Mill in the heart of Dublin is one of those places you instantly fall in love with. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a lovely traditional interior that makes you feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Despite the place being busy, everything was well-organized and relaxed, with no rush – just the perfect setting to unwind. The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell they take pride in quality and customer satisfaction. Whether you’re looking for a cozy dinner, a catch-up with friends, or just a quiet moment to enjoy the Dublin vibe, this is the place to be. One of my favorite spots in the city – highly recommend! 💚🇮🇪
